Alpha Flasher Homebrew Application - Image 1PSP Homebrew developer Mirzab14 - author of CreatDir - has come out with a refreshing (or panic-inducing, depending on the situation) new application: pspPrank.

pspPrank basically turns the screen black then proceeds to messages indicating that the unit has started deleting important files.

To top it off, Mirzab14 also disabled the Home button so people won't be able to do anything but stare as the PSP files go down the digital drain. Of course, it's all just a prank. Here are the developer's notes:

Its a little homebrew app thats meant to be played as a prank to other people. It will look like it is deleting some important stuff then tell you it is a joke.

Its disguised as a flasher called "alpha-flasher". Use your imagination to tell your friends what it does.

  • Program auto-exists at end
  • HOME button does not work (I disabled this on purpose)
  • Uses colors: White, red, blue, green

Put pspPrank folder into ms0:/PSP/GAME. Execute like any other homebrew. Works on both 1.50 and 3.XX kernel.

You might want to rename the folder if your using the prank on a friend.

Please visit our forums for feedback or questions on the application.

Thanks to Mirzab14 for giving us the heads up on the program!

April Fool's day prank on the whole scene. Imagine the uproar when peeps would think its erasing their flash. I would have named it something else and released it. Maybe on April Fools Day qj.net staff would have gone along with ya. Nice Idea and I clap a little bit faster and louder than him^^^.
