pspKaraoke: karaoke player for the PSP |
Ó
Remember that Japanese karaoke PSP title, P-Kara? If seeing that made you want to do karaoke for your Sony PSP but can't actually sing to Japanese lyrics, then here's something that you'd definitely find useful. Homebrew developer Hyve 647846 just came up with a PSP application that can let your PSP play MP3+G files, basically turning your handheld into a portable karaoke machine.
Dubbed pspKaraoke, this MP3+G player can let users change the background image by replacing the default BG.PNG file with an image of their choice (provided it's in .PNG format, of course). Also, Hyve 647846 plans to add a slideshow feature in the future, that will run while the song is playing, just like most earlier karaoke machines.
Stumped on how to get this nifty program to work? Here's some useful tips quoted from the homebrew developer:
The player will play songs from the MP3G folder. The songs have to be named m1.mp3, m2.mp3, Â…mX.mp3 with a corresponding m1.cdg. The ‘1′ will be used as the song number.
Alternatively, you can populate an sqlite3 database (kpl.db) which allows you to forgo with the naming convention and store MP3G files in different locations on the memory stick.
Note that most MP3G files on the internet donÂ’t have mp3 id tags. The sqlite database has columns for artist names and song titles.
- TRIANGLE - Show song number input
- UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT - Input song number
- CROSS - Add song number to the songs queue
- SQUARE - Skip to next song
- CIRCLE - Play / Pause
