PSP Brew

Stefano Russello, also known as puffo83 has released a new version of his application for PC users designed to help you create, edit and manage EBOOT.pbp files (homebrew executables) and customize the name and various icon for each piece of homebrew. Not only that but you can also convert EBOOTs from 1.5 to 1.0 form, transfer EBOOTs to your PSP and view the properties of the EBOOT file in no less than 9 different languages. Possibly the best thing to be added to this version since the last release is probably 2.71SE sorting support, the custom firmware released by Dark_Alex that many PSP users have now turned to.

Here's the changelog kindly translated by Zero-one from our forums:
  • French Language fixed (by Iron_Man).
  • Sorting update: new 2.71SE support (GAME, GAME150, GAME271) & ISO.
  • Icon to start a fast manual sorting.
  • Now when the psp is connected in USB mode, you can right-click on his drive icon to perform sorting. (To enable this please note that you have to reconnect your psp after the first Pspbrew boot.)
  • In HB listing, when corrupted data is present, pspbrew show the related directory.
  • Other small fixes.
This is an excellent application for both homebrew developers and users alike with it's easy to use interface - kudos to Stefano Russello! QJ would also like to thank Zero-one for the excellent translation!

It Doesn't Seem To Work With The NEWLY Released SE-B2 by Dark_alex. Cannot Find the PSP.

Such a Shame.

To top it off, 2.71 SE version B2 has just been released. I would have contacted QJ directly but they never give credit where it is due for anything :)

And to think how many times we'll hear "How do I sort ISOS and homebrew on 2.71-SEB?"

by Modroneman - 2006-10-27 22:07
» Excellent!

Hands-down one of the best and most-used program for me! Love this program and am happy to see when it is updated! Love it!

» Same Here.

To P$Player, I don't even see a "Firmware 2.71SE checkbox". Alli I have is either 1.5, or the 1.0 to 2.x selection area.

I select the Drive letter where my PSP is located at, and click the "Hombrew" button, but then it says "PSP unit not found!". I don't know whats wrong.

» "PSP unit not found"

I was having the same problem. I figured it was using some method to check for the PSP, so I tried putting in my old 32MB stick and formatting it and it detected. Moral of the story, it checks for the "MEMSTICK.IND" file that gets put on there when you format the stick; put that file back and it detects it.

For me, now it loads the homebrew window, but then crashes on "Run-time error '11': Division by zero" Out of one frying pan and into another.

» Division by zero

In case anyone else was having a similar problem to mine regarding "Run-time error '11': Division by zero", it doesn't seem to like kxploited eboots if the "2.71SE" option is unchecked (which is unchecked by default, assuming it is your first time running it). Easiest fix is to just move any folders with "%" to another folder (like GAME150 or GAME271) then run PSP Brew and check the "2.71SE" option; after that it doesn't seem to care anymore and you can just move the folders back.
