Ó

It's been just over two months since we announced our latest PSP Summer Homebrew Competition. Now this weekend signals the final days of the great competition coming to an end. We have received a number of entries already, however developers still have until Aug 20th to submit your final homebrew entry. Submissions must be turned in by that day. Contestants with eligible entries will then have a chance to win one of three great PSP prize packages that QJ.net and Lik-Sang have put together.

Here is the hot hardware we have waiting for the winning entries!

first place third prize second place

First Prize                                    Third Prize                                Second Prize

Competition Guidelines and Information
:
You can enter multiple homebrew games or applications for the contest however only one may be awarded a prize. If entering more then one, each homebrew will be judged as a individual piece of work. In addition each game or application must display this Splash Screen [ JPG or PNG ] prior or during loading. You can be as creative as you want when integrating the image however it must be shown at least once. Finally, your submission must be new. This simply means that if you have released your homebrew game or application previously, it unfortunately will not be eligible to win a prize.

All contestants who submit a valid entry will be awarded with free premium membership with QJ.net. Including custom options and additional features in the forums, access to the Developer's Dungeon and no advertisements while browsing the site. Just another way of saying thanks for supporting QJ.net and taking a part in the PSP homebrew scene.

Exact Deadline?

What is the exact deadline? ... What time and in what timezone?
by Drakonite - 2006-08-18 21:30:45
@Pranvav

"Aug 20" is a pretty vague time :P From the first part of the world hitting Aug 20th until the last part of the world moves on to Aug 21st, 48 hours passes... If someone would be on Baker Island (GMT-12) and submit something at 11:59pm Aug 20th local time, but the judges were in New Zealand (GMT+12) and were using their local time for the deadline, it would have been submitted at 11:59pm Aug 21st, which is quite a bit different, and could cause a problem ;) So is the deadline lenient, and as long as something shows up by tuesday morning so it could conceivably have been finished on the 20th in some timezone, or is there a cut off of a certain time in a certain timezone? This is the internet, people's watches do not say the same thing :P

premium crap again

i see QJ are pulling the premium crap again, sigh...... anything to get idiots to pay 3 dollars a week to remove ads and get forum features that EVERY OTHER SITE gives for free, btw the LIK SANG sponsor thing is a sham, you paid for the prizes at a cheaper rate off lik sang so that you get them for the contest. Yes i work for them so i know these things.

battery pack

The pack in the first and 2nd price is a piece of crap that set on fire when a friend had it.

unregistered coward

F*** you, 18. None of us are making Mario Kart for the PSP, Daedalus is an EMULATOR of the N64 system on the PSP. It simply EMULATES the Mario Kart 64, it's not a remake or a port. I am not in my basement. I have a g/f with whom I spend time whenever I can. Getting drunk will not get me a job making big $$$ in software development, but developping nice, fully-functional apps to show employers will. If I don't do a little programming during summer, my brain will be all turned to mush when school starts back. I'm a computer science major so I gotta keep my brain working in order to solve programming problems. And w.t.f. is a "retared"? Is it someone who can't spell due to years of mindless partying and brain cell killing behavior? :|

To the_darkside_986

Yep, Its amazing how far homebrew can go. Iris just recently got me a job with a Major development studio / publisher to do PSP games. :)

Do downgraders count as releases?
by Urza the Tyrant - 2006-08-20 01:17:54
*sighs*

And yet they still refuse to remove unregistered comments.
