Here's a nifty portal for those of you who don't have mobile phones or access to any text messaging services. The PSP Phone Tool portal from xchinamanx lets you send a text message to over 20 phone servers. It also has a phone notify feature, which lets you hear a robot voice telling you what you're typing.
Installation:
- download it
- put it in psp/common/
- go to your web browser on your psp and type file:/psp/common/phonetool/index.htm
- choose what you want to do (look at top for detail)
- choose your phone server from main page
- type all the info like phone number and stuff
- Send!!
- type 10 digit phone again
- type message
- put "0" in lisenkey
- press invoke (note this will say your IP) - it will say what you type in a robot voice, also you can only use it 3 times in 1 hour. (this is the new server so it will work)

i NICE ! big innovation for phone service.
I'm sure it's a great app but I'm not a texter, and when I chat I use AIM, Yahoo XFire ect... This is for texting to phones and I don't do that but what I am interested in is, VoIP which I'm sure everybody else has dropped interest in creating such an app because Skyp "May" be released to PSP. I'm not so sure it ever will but would be nice if the homebrew community offered alternatives to keep the development for it competitive and expanding into Video/oIP via ChottoShot cam. If we leave it up to them because of a hint for Skyp in the code of the fw update, it could take a long time for it to come around, or worse, if the rumors correct, a new PSP and would be the only one to Skyp leaving us in the same boat as before... No VoIP. Sure, it is probably easier to wait for the app an reverse engineer it, if it ever happens.

have you used the psp before?! Whats that sound that plays while im playing flash games? oh thats right its the game itself!......Dude, seriosly, the psp CAN (and yes i said CAN not can't, no typo) play sounds.Let me rephrase that. It CAN play audio in the psp's web browser. (do u have a psp? if u do then you obviously never heard about the update function and the custom firmwares.) the latest official firmware is 3.11 and the latest Custom Firmware is 3.10 OE-A'. 3.11 OE is useless so it doesnt exsist.

DJ, although you proved a good point, going on and rambling about the same thing mulitple times in your post makes you sound stupid. Once the point is proven, just stfu.
this is a cool app and all, but i cant get it to work. i installed it in psp/common, and started it up in the web browser. i selected the provider and i inputed the number no dashes, txt subject and the message, i hit send, and it said please input a message to send. since i already did that i tried it with 2other numbers on different services and got the same error. can someone help me?

ya i thought tha same thing when i was still running 1.5 and devhook but after the OE firmwares came out i updated and relized that there was sound in the new browser
well if yo pissed maybe you should leave qj and put your creation on yo psp and use it not this one maybe it will cheer you up or if it doesnt work then continue to work on it and release an updated version

Does this work with firmware v. 2.81? Does it work in Canada?
