PSP-OSS 0.3 released |
Ó

Mondy has created the latest version of PSP-OSS for the NeoFlash Spring Coding Competition. With this release, PSP-OSS and the other shells have all seen updates in the past 2 weeks, which means they are all alive and kicking! There are many new features in v0.3 which include:
- PMP files can be played from anywhere.
- Rar support for skins
- MP3 Suffle Function and Able to change songs while browsing.
- Custom Language support and Custom colour support.
- PSP-OSS has a second games folder for those of you who don't like corrupt icons.
- Wallpapers can be changed by holding select + L or R.
- Shortcuts on the desktop are examples of the custom icon support. In ms0:/PSP-OSS/Desktop/ there are .qli files. To make your own just rename one to png and open it in an image editor.
- Many bugfixes as well.

Yay first post!!!
Amazing job keep it up! I love the custom icons
will this work for 2.0? I was thinking of skinning this, but I want to make sure that it works with 2.0 before I download it. thanks.
No shells work on 2.0, 2.1, 2.5 or even 2.6. Only 1.0 and 1.5 psps.
This looks cool and all but for some reason I can't use MPH's 2.0 to 1.50 downgrader. I have version a 2.00 PSP like the readme says but the PSP screen just freezes when I go to the photo section of the interface. Any help? :-(
the last version was pretty nice, hope this is better
Shuffle is spelled as 'suffle' in the third new feature.
like the artilery shell, im having problems loading homebrew
ps1 games aren't gonna be aviable for pirating. And Also. they are gonna be around 30~50 dollars each. And Flash support is already available on 1.5. And this shell is great. just cause u dont got 1.5 no need to be jealous
Better than psix with the implementation of PMP. Speaking of PSIX didn't they just released an update? I guess they lied to us about giving us the version that has pro capability after they released a new version.
Go PSP-OSS!
old skins dont work from OSS v2
PSP-OSS is a very nice Skin, along with Artilery Shell. PSIX Lite looks great, but has to little features. I am a Pro Member of PSIX though, so the Pro version is much better. I'll stick to PSIX, but it's nice to see so many shells getting updates. Hopefully soon all the shells will overtake the original Sony one.
Homebrew for life!
some shells work on 2.0, like PSIX, they're just worthless cause you can't do much on them without kernal.
anyone got homebrew running on this shell? it was working fine on the previous version...
omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg. i though it was dead but it is alive, omgomgomgomgomg omgomgomgomg.
omg this is soo heavy, way better than PSIX!!
does it support mp4 aac music files too?
i tried a pmp file and it didn't work, does it really implemented or do i still have to install pmp separatly? If so on which folder should pmp be installed?
good luck on winning the contest
it works perfectly fine for me.
pmp plays, homebrew loads and so on.
it's nice and stable too
nice work
too bad the desktop icon can only be 48x48px.
to whoever said psix sucks, you know psix isnt even finished? And also Fluff was talking to the maker of PMP, and they've been in talks of implementing it.
As for this shell, i dont really care for it
Quote:
You do know there is a homebrew PS1 emu in the works.. and you do know you are a complete idiot
pwnage!!!
Keep up the nice work. For that anonymous coward saying shells suck, can you take yourself to the offical playstation forum? I believe you are on the wrong website.
bites ASS

PSIX developers lied period. They say that they charge for access for betas and stuff like that. We know thats a load of bull, its practically for the program itself. Didn't they say something about after they release their latest betas the one before that will be released to the public. I guessed not.
PSP-OSS which is free has already has more features and is more stable than that piece of software their charging people for "beta access".
can anybody tell me how to use my own icons i know how to make shortcuts, but dont know how to make icons like the ones shown with smash bros, and quake pls help
To make a shortcut . Open an image you want to use and resize it to 48x48, Then save it as a .png file.
Onces its a png rename it to shortcutname.qli
If your having problems try renaming one of the .qli files to png and open it up in a graphics editor
has someone tried playing mp4aac music files on it and did it work?
It is the simple fact that the MS or HDD is accessed constantly by OSS. OSS reads the ms constantly to detect any changes to files being displayed on the desktop which is a major issue both in the fact that the datel hdd doesnt worth with it aswell as the eventuall damage wit will cause to MS's a better method to detect file changes needs to be implemented.

do any shells have 2.0 umd running support??? because the shell needs that to be good otherwise u have to exit the shell to load up the eboot for 2.0 umd support
I upgraded to 2.0 for the web browser and socom/gta. I haven't felt like I've been missing anything till now. I know there are ways of playing my 2.0 umds now on a 1.5 but is everyone still using the crappy wipeout browser? I don't know how good this shell is but I really like my sony browser. What should I do? Downgrade or keep my Sony browser?
