PSP-Maps v0.1 - Google Maps for the Sony PlayStation Portable |
Ó
We've had so many homebrew applications in the past that provided us with map programs for the Sony PlayStation Portable. If those didn't do the trick for you, then maybe this next one from coder Royale will.
The coder, known for his Chromium PSP port has ported Google Maps to the Sony handheld. However, note that the interface was made simpler and that the program doesn't utilize the Google Maps API.
Instead, PSP-Maps retrieves the images directly. The program is currently on version 0.1 and as such, there are some bugs found in the code, like it being only capable of using the first WiFi connection.
PSP-Maps v0.1 comes with its own Readme.txt file which should provide you with further help. Also, you may want to refer to the source link below for more details.

this looks good, I am gonna try it
not worth putting inside my PSP cause the analog button did not function as what the instruction says on their website that means you are not able to go to a particular country that you want, secondly the speed is way to slow(i am using highspeed broadband)
Indeed, this is very slow. If this gets fixed and worked on alot more I'm sure it'll be very popular like PSPTube.
new programs for the psp are always welcome but why should i use this program if i can open maps.google.com in the psp browser?
because it doesn't work in the browser.
readme containing only a link = fail
Unzip and install in your PSP firmware 3.x folder. Controls: * Analog pad: move the map. * R button: zoom in. * L button: zoom out. * X: change view. * Start: quit. Known issues: * Can only use the first Wi-Fi connection. Source code: Not available yet :)
try it and you will see that it IS actually working since some weeks / months (?) ago
