PSP MAC Spoofer - Image 1We have just received word that homebrew developer Dark AleX has recently finished work on a new project, dubbed the PSP Mac Spoofer. This application temporarily changes the Mac address that your PSP sends to WiFi Access Points and similar WiFi devices. Quoting Dark AleX's readme for further clarification:

This plugin does NOT:
  • Change the mac address stored in idstorage (that's useless, as that is just to show the inf in xmb). Therefore you will still see your old mac in system info.
  • Change the read only mac address stored in the wlan chip.
This plugin DOES:
  • Change the mac address that your psp will send to other wireless devices. This is useful if you want to hide your real mac address to other people for some reason, or if you want to bypass some mac filter protection of your neighbor :)
PSP Mac Spoofer will work on custom firmware 3.71 M33. We strongly advise would-be users to view the readme for full installation and usage instructions.

We thank Fadil, sime, and all the other readers who tipped us off regarding this news!

..

Since it changes the way modules are loaded, is there any chance this could break other plugins?

Sweet

I've been waiting on this for over a year. When javascript was finally well implemented, it lost its use for me, but I can see many other little things it will be great for! THANKS DA!

MAC Spoofers

They have always been around for PCs, but it indeed is a nice feat. As always, great work DAX, awesome to see you're working on little stuff too, not just the CFW :D Hell, it's awesome you're helping us at all :D
