PSP homebrew community rejoice! Homebrew developer Yoshihiro has finally released his highly anticipated Game Decrypter for the PSP. This homebrew tool will allow you to run your backup games that requires the OFW 5.55 to work properly on custom firmwares 5.03GEN and 5.50GEN.

Hi guyz this tool is here for let you use your original game backup on CFW 5.50 gen B-2. Not all games working because some games use some fact header on prx files.
How i can use this tool ?
- first you need to install the GameZDecryptZ folder in your X:PSP/GAME folder
- put your EBOOT.BIN extracted from UMDGEN PSP_GAME/SYSDIR and put it on root of your memory stick
- now you can boot game decrypter now you can press X 5 seconds later it's done :)
- connect your usb cable check on root of your memory stick you have a new folder called decryptor
- copy the eboot.bin from the decryptor folder inside umdgen and rebuild your iso

Perfect. Dissidia I already had running along with Soul Cal, this just added Disgaea 2 and - GRAN TURISMO working GREAT! This is the best release in awhile. Love it. No more battery switching. Time to buy some more!

Well, I got Persona [US] to work on my 5.50GEN-B PSP 1000 I needed to add an extra step in the rebuild of the ISO ------------------------------ Load the Clean ISO. Go to File>File List>Export Save it as Filelist.txt Replace the EBOOT.BIN Go to File>File List>Import Choose Filelist.txt Select YES to forcing LBAs, then Save. ----------------------------- Game should run fine I believe the issue is all the LBAs get reset when you drag the new EBOOT in which gives a black screen. May want to redo all the games we've reported as failed.

does it work on m33 firmwares
Tried this with GT on my PSP-3001 using GEN 5.03A and still getting black screen.

I've only heard of GTA working with the USA version and on 5.50GEN-B2. I've heard non-working reports on 5.00-6M33 and nothing about GEN 5.03A
I understand if it had to be made for GEN for some tech reasons, but anyone who follows M33 with the loyalty that most M33 users do wont be switching to GEN anytime soon. just sayin.
Sticking with a wildly out-of-date CFW out of "loyalty" is just stupid, and expecting someone to accommodate your irrational stubbornness is not warranted.

@Freeplay Its not loyalty without a good reason. I've gone away from M33 before and I know that if i go to GEN there'll be some random **** that wont work with my pops or something else. 5.00 M33-6 hasnt been out of date until the recent sony games were released and from what ive read about GEN online its more stable as well. M33 will always be a great firmware

I have been having the same black screen problem with MotorStorm Arctic Edge and I found out how to fix this, and this should work on all other games. Load the Clean ISO. Go to File>File List>Export Save it as Filelist.txt Replace the EBOOT.BIN Go to File>File List>Import Choose Filelist.txt Select YES to forcing LBAs, then Save. Do this then switch to the M33 Driver in the VSHmenu. I'm using 5.50 GEN-B2 PSP-1000.

Anyone still wondering if this works on M33 well right now i'm playing Gran Turismo on 4.01m33 this Yoshihiro has just single handedly saved my Psp from a dusty unused life and i finally got a reason to use it again.
not that I don't like gen, I upgraded to it and liked it, unfortunately my PSP is my TV remote, and without it I can't switch my inputs, and the prgram for that reqiures the 1.50 kernal ) + so i can't upgrade until a decent method for using the 1.50 kernal on gen is made ) +

hey!.. this thing actually works.... after moding the EBOOT, and re-building it.... From the VSH menu change the "UMD ISO MODE + SONY NP9660" to "UMD ISO MODE + M3 driver" and its done..... thanks Ivory_soul :)

Has a VERY long way to go before it's really playable, i mean look how long Daedalus has been going and NDS is even harder to emulate, another slight speed increase on DSonPSP is nothing compared to this decrypter.
duh less graphics hardware, and a 60mhz and a 33 mhz processors. duh the DS is so much less powerful then n64.

It has 2 screens and a touch screen to emulate and there's a ton of pc N64 emulators to base Daedalus on, but NDS emulation is still new and has a long way to go even on powerfull pc's.. so i'll repeat NDS is even harder to emulate.

you patched a game that doesnt need patching. ff dissidia us version works out of the box just like the comment above me said. now your ISO/CSO only works on 5.50 gen-b-2 hehehehe
You don't need a patch to install GEN, wtf are you talking about? Have you ever even used GEN, Vlad? I bet not. It works just as well as M33 does.
Also don't forget to change your m33 or sony iso settings in the no umd section in the vhs menu from one to the other. This usually fixes the black screen problem. Now I can Take my Artic Storm on the road with me without taking the UMD with. Sweet! Love Backups. After all this is what sony has found that we want. PSP GO! Thanks again you rock!
a page where people input data as to what games are compatible with m33, genb2 etc, then psp1k, pspslim, 3000, then if the ISO is untouched or patched if patched then which patch is used, YD for yoshihiro etc.

arggghhhhh i dont know what i am doin wrong when pasted new eboot back in to iso i save as and then copy onto psp. but it says game cannot be started still. also if look at properties it says that it still 5.55????
i can confirm that i'm now playing all the games on my 5.00 m33-6 there's no need to change to GEN, stay on your current firmware, hahahhahahah it feels good to be playing these games!!!! good luck to m33 users and GEN users

Now i can play DiRT2 :D i was just about to take it to game stop because it wouldn't run lol
now i have to wait 25 min for the UMD to rip through the USB.... oh well...
If it makes you happy i don't know much about coding emulators and never said i did, i get my info from what other people say, and i don't waste my time with some people because they obviously not mature enough to have civilised discussion.
i currently have a 5.00m33-6 cfw installed on my psp. How would i make the other newly launched games work using this tool? or better yet can anyone give me the "exact" instructions on how to do it? Personally, I'm just far too lazy to update. +D I also agree, if GEN was buggy/not as good I'd have to disagree. Sticking with a person out of loyalty can also make you look bad....Remember when M33 first came to the scene and everybody wanted to stick with DaX's firmware? We all know how well that went down.
open the ISO with UMDGEN and extract boot.bin...then copy that to the root of the MS...then run the program to patch it...then replace the old boot.bin in the ISO with the newly patched one...and finally save the ISO with forced LBA
@iamshadow... hey, thanks for the guide. but i noticed something when i was rebuilding the iso. the "forced LBA" option its not there? where can i find it?
From what i gather you need to export the filelist, patch the EBOOT then import the filelist and say yes @ force Ive done this and i still cant get DIRT 2 to run (black screen), everything else runs sweet :) Yet to get GT though... PSP 1000 5.00M33-6

my psp is currently on a blackscreen once i started the recreated iso of Disgaea 2. i think i followed the directions correctly but it seems that my psp isn't compatible with the tool. thanks for the help.
Got IL2 running on my PSP 1000 with M33 5.00-6 but no matter what I did (including forcing LBA as mentioned by previous posters) GT wouldn't run. After updating firmware to GEN 5.50-B the game ran fine... (USA version only though. The EUR version I tested didn't work though it may have been a bad rip).
hi im new when i downloaeded it says on my psp cant find eboot.bin so where do i find the eboot
DaX is part of M33... so it went down as they turned out to be made by the same person...
Updated my 1000 to 5.50GEN-B(Full) and Dirt2 works fine as do others
you sat here arguing with someone who likely doesnt know what they are talking about and then decided the arguement was pointless? btw my pc isnt particularly amazing but i was playin pokemon diamond and pearl with no problem with an emulator. just my 2 cents.
For ALL of theses games, 5.50GEN is required : Gran Turismo Dirt2 Naruto shippuden Disgaea 2 Reborn 2 Persona Yugioh For these, I'm not sure : Ys VII Tales of VS Just update to 5.50GENB2, all games works fine. This firmware is good too, working like a charm. enjoy !
I can play a load of NDS games on my pc as well but a lot of the mid to high end performance NDS games are unplayable and unless someone makes a big step with an emulator release it will be a long time before compatability is sorted, and if someone challenges you to code an emulator because you just disagreed with something and starts attacking everyone you know very quickly you wasting your time.

US version will work there is no way EUR copy is 200+MB when US version is 900+
Just used this on my M33-4, could not get it to work with soul calibur broken destiny (already has a patch ripkit though) or gran turismo (black screen) but confirmed working with GO Joe on M33-4. Amazing release! This is REALLY big! Thanks!!! Anyone who got gran turismo working on M33 - please give details. BYW, not upgrading just because everything works great and I don't want to screw-up what I have to play a few new games...not worth the risk. Also GEN has received a bad rep for whatever reason, I'm not part of either camp (M33 or GEN) but scared to try GEN because of of the bad PR...

You really think I'd do something so stupid? -_- I live in the UK and I BOUGHT the game... The UK version runs on Firmware 5.55.... Know your facts before you call me a failure...

Yea, stop working on a promising homebrew to allow more piracy.... Not going to "GEN" myself... Why? It's buggy. Not going to play with buggy when I'm dealing with firmware... It's just not a good idea... but if the continue and get back to the same features/quality as M33 then I'd go for it.
Thats funny, I don't see a problem with this homebrew, I don't see why he should stop working on it. I mean aren't you the one that works on DaedalusX64. I'm pretty sure your own homebrew is allowing more piracy using N64 roms. If he should stop working then that means you should as well, doesn't it?
I was able to get Persona working finally!!! Now I don't have to abandon CFW! I had some skepticism updating to 5.50 GEN-B, but... apparantly all my apps still work... (except my 1.5 kernel ones of course) but ALL of my 5.00 plugins and apps are working 100%. Thanks again!!!!
Hey I've got this game but can't get the image to run before or after running the tool. Did you use any special steps? I've tried the filelist import/export method with no luck, and my psp 2000 is set to M33 - NO UMD iso mode. TIA!

ok well wht kind of knowledge do u need and where can u find it, also my EBOOT.BIN from the dycrypter folder doesnt copy into UMDGEN v4.0 im not sure what im doing wrong also, could someone put up a link for patched games

Well, since you guys have no idea what you are talking about, I will give you guys a quick run through. Touch screen isn't that hard to emulate... and even the screens aren't that hard to set up. It is all about system architecture. The processors are designed to get things done "DIFFERENTLY" so when you talk about processor speed on one thing, you can't compare it to another. The DS's processor was designed specifically to deal with everything that is thrown at it, and vice versa; the games are designed specifically for it. The N64 is easier only because it uses a simpler architecture and design, still really different than the psp's though, and things are handled funny. When emulating you have to imitate doing something. For example... Try imitating a baby for a WHOLE ENTIRE DAY, even a trained athlete has problems. So when dealing with the DS it's design is really drastically different, and with its efficient design, it takes much more power on a regular computer to get the same thing done. On a psp though... A DS is really hard to emulate without lots and lots of work to imitate it as close as possible, and a good working knowledge of the psp's functions. One "probably" could be made if you could efficiently use the resources available on the psp, but it just takes SOOO much time, and no random person is going to help that much.
While browsing the net trying to get GT to work I noticed a couple random posts by people saying they got Gran Turismo running on their 4.01 M33 PSP's. Well I had an extra PSP Phat laying around that was still on old CFW 3.9, so I upgraded to 4.01 M33 and sure enough, it runs like a charm!! I should also note that I also have a PSP Slim with 5.0 M33-6 on it that does NOT run GT. It took lots of searching to find out that GT simply won't work on this firmware no matter what you do, so I figured I'd put it right at the top here for anyone looking. Now I'm trying to locate Disgaea 2 to see if that works since I've heard many have been having a hard time getting this game to load as well. Will follow up with the result when it's finished. Any other games peeps are wondering about let me know, if I have them I'll be happy to give it a try. BTW I'm just as hesitant as the many of you are who have been avoiding GEN firmwares in hopes of an updated M33 CFW being released... Wouldn't it be sweet if an old M33 firmware turned out to be the 'new' Golden Firmware! ha ha

The new games that i have patched with this tool would not work on my psp2001 loaded with cfw 5.00m33-6 the only thing i got after loading the games are a blackscreen.
