Here are the details for this release:
- Emulates the new firmware 5.51.
- Translation into English.
- Improved Graphics.
- Improvements to the internal functioning.
- Now the background color is that we have put into the PSP.
To install:
- meter and Unzip in the folder PSP / GAME
- Enter the recovery and activate the "Use version.txt"

can you play the legit FF7 with this?
So does this just emulate the firmware, so if im on 5.00 m33-6, go to that "simulata versiion 5.51" option, I can then go into PSN, download a game demo, play it, and also have all my m33 features? or do i have to go back and forth? Can some one say what this actually does before I go and use it?

This tool basically copies a version.txt of a higher fw version (ie. 5.51) to flash0:/vsh/etc/version.txt
If you have "Use version.txt" enabled, the PSN will think that you have that version installed.
The included version.txt is the version.txt of 5.00 with the release number changed. The proper version.txt for 5.51 should be something like:

the menu pops up but does not function
My game demo (patapon 2) still wont boot with this. It has the error code: 80010013 meaning device / media not found. Wtf? How can I solve this.
i cant seem to get this to work, just goes to a black screen after the gameboot & locks my psp until it shuts itself down.
could it be because im using a flashed custom theme?
anyone else having this problem?
anyway, iv flashed the 5.51 version.txt included over my 5.00 m33-6 one manually & all seems good. have to dl some demos to test though.
Simulate 5.50 mean I can use the feature in 5.50 into my 5.00M33-6? Or is it just tricking the PSN?
I get a red screen of death after this runs. It says a serious error has occurred, please contact tech support

All this program does is swap out version.txt for you eliminating the need to connect it to a pc and edit it manually i was able to get on the psn network and play ff7 legit psn download because of this.
It wont work on all games but it will on most of them as long as they dont call on a 5.5/.51 part of the firmware it will work...
i second that i got the red screen of death with this i will post a video with proof if you wish.

BUT you did some thing wrong
here is your problem..... some how you used the program and it deleted your version.txt from your flash......X:\vsh\etc\vers ion.txt
this is where tis program makes alterations to..... so hopefully you backed up your flash.... so all you got to do is use the program correctly.... AND MAKE SURE THAT when you use SIMULATE to have the use version txt turned OFF
see if that helps
after using the program, ant it changes the version txt to 5.50 Then turn it on
Hey all, I also got the RSOD.. I used Hellcat's Recovery Flasher to go back to 4.01 m33 and updated too 5.00m33. Looks like it has a conflict with the new 5.50 Gen-A cfw.
I fixed it the hard way i think but it worked :)

are you on 1.5 kernal or 5.xx? you cant run demos on 1.5 kernal

I have put the update in psp/game activated version text in recovery.
but when i go back into system setting it still shows 5.00m33-6

it does not change your firmware..... it changes the file "Version txt" normally it would say bla bla bla 5.00 bla bla bla
this program changes that to 5.50 or 5.51
ti make the PSn store think you have that firmware.... it DOES NOT give you the new stuff
MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP THE
VERSION.TXT File under the vsh\etc\version .txt

means

i didnt get this to work at all when i added the files to my PSP/GAME folder all the icons show up on the XMB as corrupt data. Booted into irshell navigated to the eboot ran it and changed to 5.51 , went to recovery mode activated version.txt. The XMB loaded up a bit then i get the red screen everyone is talking about.
i got this to work finally i disabled all my plugins, changed it to 5.51 , entered recovery menu activated Use version.txt , exited and got to download a demo (monster hunter unite) using psp media go before it was asking me to upgrade firmware but now that message is gone. So for people having trouble try disabling all your plugins.
to start with and make sure it is disabled BEFORE running the program.....thats how i got it to work

Update 5.00 m33-6 to 5.51 m33 already, you are being banned from the PSN by sony.(the Dark Side) It is time to move foward. Gen is nice but Alex is the best, seriously, the best! So please Master Jedi, bless us with a new firmware. That is funny, right, bless... (R2D2's voice) Any way it sucks that sony doesn't recoginize the talents of young Dark Alex, but a diss, that is weak sony, give the guy a break, not to run your backup game is one thing, but not to let gamers that run backups and even pirates to shop, lame.
