PSP homebrew update: KK's PSP Radio gets screenshot support, shoutcast changes |
Ó
Stopping by for an update in the QJ.NET forums is Killzone_Kid. He's updated his PSP Radio application with two new changes: firstly, a screenshot function has been added, and secondly, there's been some slight improvement to the shoutcast search ultility.
Here's KK himself talking about screenshot support in PSP Radio:
To take a screenshot, click on -Take Screenshot- in Menu under Sleep Timer. This will activate screen capture. To capture, press and hold R shoulder button and then Start button (Start button is also used to deactivate screen capture). After screenshot is taken it is saved in PICTURE/RADIOPLAYER SCREENSHOT directory in .bmp format and could be viewed from XMB in the Photo menu.
Since this app works via Wi-Fi, the update can be downloaded via the source link below. You'll have to access it directly from your PSP unit's Internet browser though.
Remember, Killzone_Kid is very open to suggestions for future changes, so if you have the time, check out the forums and drop a message!

PSP Radio has remained my favourite internet radio application on the PSP ever since its initial release, and I am glad to hear that people are working on it again. There is so much that can be done with this program. Adding more visuals...adding more search options...creating more plugins...:) Oh, and if there were only a way to make the program compatible with Win Amp visuals (even if sone editing of the visuals is required)...
This has NOTHING to do with the PSPRadio homebrew. This is based on the Sony Internet Radio feature first presented in the firmware 3.80. Personally, I prefer the PSPRadio homebrew, but IMO this radio player is cool and I think it's good for those folks who are still using official firmware.
What's the use of a screenshot function on a Shoutcast radio?
It's an official feature of the radio player. Why NOT use it?
the use is if you hear a song you like, you can screenshot the song title and artist. good idea to have it
You can take screenshot of pretty much anything you can load into web browser, so you are not just limited to the radio app.
This PSP radio uses the official internet radio web browser plug-in that was added with 3.80. This radio is also written in DHTML/Javascript hence it works on both CFW and OFW.
