PowerSwicth Blocker - Image 1 It's very rare that this happens to me, but if some of you guys end up switching of your PSP accidentally, then here goes: PowerSwitcher Blocker from bboyjcm allows you to disable/enable your PSP power switch.

Why would you want that? As I said, it helps prevent you (or your whacked out little brother or sister) from accidentally shutting down your PSP and losing all that game progress.

Straight from PSP developer bboyjcm:
  • Features:
    • Enables/Disables your psp power switch
    • Block & Unblocks your psp power switch with the same button combo
    • Works In VSH & Game Mode
    • Works for both PSP Phat & PSP Slim
    • Code Cleaning
    • Credits,Readme and Changelog are now included
  • Some "BUGS":
    • Holding the PowerSwitch button for more than 10secs will disable the plugin and shutdown your psp.
    • If you press the power switch while you have it disabled , your psp will shutdown after you disable the power switch block.
    • When you are in Block Mode (When your psp power switch is blocked/disabled) you cant Restart/Shutdown/Sleep your psp or start a usb connection.
    • When you enter the game mode you need to re-enable the Power Switch Block with the button combo even if you did enable it in the VSH.
    • Message ("Power Switch Blockisabled/Enabled") sometimes doesnt show up in game mode.
As you can see, there are some known bugs. If you find any more, better head to the forums and contact the developer.

Thanks to bboyjcm for giving us a heads up on his release!

FAIL!

This plugin makes no sense Holding the PowerSwitch button for more than 10secs will disable the plugin and shutdown your psp. WTF then all you do is put your psp to sleep and that just pauses the game... sorry to who ever made this kind of stupid make something that when you press home it pauses it

wtf?

i think this is a good idea for people who like to play music on their psp and keep putting it to sleep by accident when taking it off 'hold' (like me..). just because you dont need the plug-in does not deem it as a "FAIL!" at all. you dont really have the right to take the piss out of someone who has put their hard work into making something free and for all of us tl;dr this guy + idiot

xD

So what if you put your psp to sleep while listening to music just turn it back on and then and go back it will start right from where your psp went to sleep and if its that much of a big deal DON'T PUT YOUR PSP IN HOLD xD

I forgot

Also thats why they made the homebrew HOLD+ to prevent that it gives you like a three second freeplay when you take it off hold it prevents it from switching to sleep mode for those who push it to high

Agree

sorry to say i agree with Wethegreenpeople, i mean i dont want to put this guy down and his hard work, but the description is contradicting itself, made this from preventin to turn off when in reality it really doesnt.. this prevents it from goin to sleep.. also there is a plugin that kinda does this.. HOLD+ does this put it on hold and it lowers the speed to a minimal and save battery life when listen to music, also this prevents it from goin to sleep mode when flip the switch to fast and accidently goin to high and putting it in sleep mode.. i still think this guy who made this plugin right track but the home button pause is a great idea tho

power-off protection

hey this can be useful if it will help prevent me from accidently turning off my PSP while playing intense games?

subject

well thats the point of this plugin... but to actually turn off psp normaly you need to hold the power switch up for 10/12 seconds, if its a quick flip it jus puts psp in sleep mode

@sammouse

@sammouse the hold+ plugin will stop your psp from going in sleep mode if you flick it from hold and go too far. Also hold+ is actually useful.

its the hardware

no one can stop the psp from shutting off if you hold the power switch for 10 sec. its a sort of failsafe. there are certain hardware limitations that disallow it. the hardware is designed to do that incase there is no software, or corrupted software that cant run it. and, ofcourse, one could just remove the battery....
