This has been out for a while but in case you missed it (like I did), homebrew coder plum has released a quick version update for the MP3PlayerPlugin app. Version 2.1 contains a fix for the MUTE function.
MP3PlayerPlugin is a homebrew app for the PlayStation Portable that lets users listen to music while on the handheld's XMB. It's basically an updated version of the old music.prx plugin buffed up with additional features.
