Homebrew coder Sakya has dropped by our forums to release a new update for LightMP3, a power-saving music player for the PSP that supports MP3, OOGG Vorbis, ATRAC3, and FLAC. The latest update now supports WMA (Windows Media Audio), bookmark function for audiobooks, Japanese  language support and more.

LightMP3 2.0.0 RC3 changelog:

  • Added: When pressing L the song will restart if more than 2% has been played
  • Added: support for relative path in playlists
  • Added: support for WMA (Windows Media Audio)

a couple of bugs for me...

First, when pressing the L button before 2%, it goes back one track like its supposed to, but when pressing L after 2%, instead of going back to the beginning of the song, it does nothing... the song just keeps playing as it is.

Also, there's no setting to change the clock speed for WMA, so whenever I play a WMA song, I have to manualls increase the clock speed with the control stick every time to prevent it from skipping.

Though I thought the PSP could already play WMA files by activating the feature in the System Settings but whatever. The extra supported files is also a plus. I'm downloading this right now!!

It supports all 2byte characters!

In my experience, most annoying application support only Japanese..
