Homebrew coder Bubbletune has recently released a new version of Game Categories Revised, a handy homebrew plugin that allows you to organize your PSP's Game menu. The latest release has implemented various improvements and other bug fixes.

Changelogs:
  • UTF-8 support was not correctly implemented for language files, fixed.
  • Improved Context Menu Mode, now shows a larger number of items instead of only four.
  • Added ability to completely hide uncategorized even if there are files floating around (see readme for instructions).
  • Tried to fix a rather strange crash that occurred in all sorts of instances.
Thanks to cmbeke for the tip!

Hey Bubbletune, I love this app and I seriously doubt I could go back to not having it.

If it's one request, it's the one outlined at the forum topic I created here: http://forums.qj.net/psp-homebrew-hacks-help/160008-game-categories-psn-downloaded-games.html

If this could be looked into in a future release, I'd really appreciate it.

Well, hope you read this.

Would it be possible to include an option to sort categories?

I know only 2 ways at the moment.

Either I use "PSP Content Manager" or "PSP Filer" to sort the categories and "Homebrew Sorter for GCR v01c" to sort within the categories.

Or I use "Homebrew Sorter GUI b2". Then I can sort categories but not within the categories. It just lists all homebrews from all categories in one single list. That makes it a pain to sort.

Something like that woud make the plugin perfect.

» Bug

I think I found a bug.

It should be "Kontextmenü".

v7 showed "Kentextmen".

And v8 shows this:

My language file looks like this:

Art der Kategorisierung

Nicht Kategorisiert

Mehrere MS

Kontextmenü

Why don't you use Homebrew Sorter GUI B2? Its able to organize not only your Apps/brew in the Game Folder, but it can also categorize how CAT_ Folders are arranged to your liking, and it can also sort the apps/brews in the CAT_ folders.

I've been using the first version of this for a long time now. I've had no problems with it and works exactly how I want it to.

Why upgrade? I keep seeing all these updates and fixes and its all just so messy.

Because GUI b2 takes all homebrews from all categories and puts them in one single list. While with 01c I could sort within each categorie seperately.

I'll take a screenshot if I coulnd't explain it good enough.

Its not QJ that is slow. QJ net relies on its users to provide news/tips on most things that has to do with homebrew (ever noticed the "Thanks to [InsertNameHere ] for the tip"?)...so...Its not QJ that is slow, its QJ's users that are either too lazy to provide tips, or are too stupid to know how to send an email [No offense]
