Homebrew coder Art has released his latest entry for the ongoing NEO Summer Coding Compo 2009. AVEC is a GPS Vector map viewer for the PSP capable of displaying and navigating maps in the common Polish map format.

Developer's note:

AVEC is a Vector map viewer capable of displaying and navigating maps in the common Polish format maps. This 1.50 kernel version can also receive location from a GPS device and display your location on the map. If the map file has street information, the program tells you what street you are in, or lookup the name of a street selected with the crosshair.

There are two available downloads for the homebrew. The first one is the 1.50 kernel mode version with GPS functionality while the second download is the user mode for newer firmwares with no 1.50 kernel mode. It has no GPS functionality, but with the same map viewer and navigation.

Thank you very much Art!It's been a long while since anyone released anything around the navigation sphere. But I hope that you don't leave the GPS on a "serial" level...if you know what I mean.I have the original PSP-290 USB receiver, and I surely don't want to buy a serial one!And I'm also sure that I'm not the only one like that,so I hope to see a PSP-290 support in your next release!
