PSP Gamepad For PC v1.0 |
Ó
The only slight hitch at the moment is that the Analog nub cannot be used. The video above shows Racer_S using the PSP gamepad on his PC. Here's how to install this nifty piece of homebrew:
1. Download and install Netlib 2.0.
2. Extract pspgamepad folder from this archive to PSP\GAME\luaplayer\Applications folder.
3. Edit \PSP\GAME\luaplayer\Applications\pspgamepad\index.lua with notepad or similar program and change [pc_ip = "XXX.XXX.X.X"] to your target computer ip and save the file.
4. Start LUAPlayer on your PSP Game list and then select pspgamepad from the list and press circle.
5. Run the receiver.exe on the target computer.
6. After the socket is opened, press some buttons on the psp and you should see the activity light blink on the receiver program, if not the connection is not working.
7. Start a game and configure the keys as you normally would, play and enjoy!
The avid homebrewers amongst you may know that there have been applications in the past that do this, but this small VB6 application requires no installation; however you will need the VB6 runtime files.

I will test it now :), great work, keep it up !
Zx.
i've been looking for an application for this... i cant wait to play smash bros with a controller! oh, it'd be great if you make a version of this so that it connects thru USB too? cuz my wifi is kinda screwy.
this is definatly a great idea and ive been hoping for something like this to come out. i was just wondering if it was possible to do this thru usb?
what games can be controled with this :game pad:
the gamepad file download link is broken. it takes you to the QJ download homepage.
hey, that is damn cool. does it work with gameboy emulators?
Slight technical hitch. Try the download link now.
i would test it but i dont have any pc games or a pc as amazing as that guy in the vid.
he has 14 different programs open on the bar at the bottom of the screen so that is amazing.
I made this circuit that i found on a web for a controller, it works really well and its not hard that hard and really inexpensive. So if you dont have a wifi connection or dont want to use your psp as a controller, check this out.
http://www.emulatronia.com/reportajes/directpad/psxeng/print.htm
This sounds really great.
But could it be possible to do it through USB.
works like a charm, project64 works great, thanks
perfect controls, no lag from what i see. also not hard to install at all as the article might imply. now if we could get the analog working, project64 would be my new n64 =).
Can you use this as a gamepad foe ePSXe?
i know my wireless has always been screwy with networking... so this isnt working for me. it connects and everything, the screen says "socket opened and ready!" and i opened the reciever and everything. with the right ip address and all. but when i press the buttons, the activity light doesnt to on. the wi-fi light on my psp blinks, but nothing happens on the computer. o_O? can someone help me?
I allways get this error when I start the receiver:
Run-time error '10048':
Address in use
What do I do to fix the problem?! Please help
"Can you use this as a gamepad foe ePSXe?"
If you can map the keys with ePSXe with keyboard keys such as A,D,C ect. then yes... It works with any game that would support keymaping "Thats all most all games =P"
Works great BTW Played my NES And SNES Emulator with no problums.
Now only if we had USB support and Analog support this program would be one of the best homebrews
Can you use this as a gamepad for ePSXe?
I downloaded the file, and I don't have a clue what to do with it. Where is the "PSPGAMEluaplaye rApplications folder"?
Very confusing...
Does anyone know what pc game is being shown on the video?
Someone has the following error "Error: indexlua:126: attempt to call field'udpConnect' (a nil value)" ???
Can someone help me to fix it?
This program just sets up the buttons as if they were your keyboard. Therefore, it works just like your keyboard and should work for ANY game... lol I even typed with it.
For an Update you shoud add Ad-Hoc Support, PSP and PC connect wirelessly w/o the use of a router
I just played some SNES on my PS and works like a charm...
This is one of the best things I have ever seen....
Having a wifi PC remote is really cool...... Better than my real PC remote....maybe fix the speed to the wifi a little...but works good.
Good Job man..... And people say that homebrew is not good.
My situation is that I'm using a computer with a WiFi card plugged up to it. The router is connected to another computer in my home, does that matter? Can I just get the Mac from the computer I'm on and still use the Wifi remote? Man I would love to play Metroid Fusion with a PSP!
yes u can i was playing gran turismo its pretty damn cool
i was wondering what game was in the video too? anyone know?
thats some nice work!!!
can i get a link to a full setup T_T...lazy...
I had this idea on the psp-hacks forums although my lack of programming prevented me from doing it. -_-
I feel proud and thankful.
This is very cool, bet I can use this with Gametap.
can anyone please describe the procedure that was necessary to get this to work properly I have been trying for two hours without any luck the program connect to my router properly I have a linksys router I don't get any activity on the receiver
I remember someone requesting something like this a week ago and now its happened. The psp homebrew scene is so quick and diverse it blows all other console-hombrew scenes out the water.
I wonder if I can get this to work with M.U.G.E.N
Oh wow. This rocks! Playing some cool emulators....
Amazing work
can this possibly brick your psp at all, and does this work on 2.6
I can confirm that it works with the playstation emulator.
I was playinh wipeout and mortal kombat trilogy with this program.works good.
My question is......In the video..he had a racing game... and in the PSP you could see the miles amd RPM on the PSP screen...How can I get that to work with my games?
I know this is a first release, but I have a few suggestions:
- It would be nice if the keys were configurable in the receiver. Maybe using config files.
- Can you allow the connection through USB (my wireless router is so unreliable).
- If custom keys in the receiver could be done, how about using two PSPs at the same time?
would be the lack of analog and no custom receiver keys, I'm sure this will be worked out in the next release. USB connection would also be good for those whose wireless routers aren't reliable. also it says the psp's d-pad is mapped to 'cursor keys'. does this refer to the number pad arrows, or the actual arrows that do not include the numbers? i was playing goldeneye on project64 and found that when pressing left on the psp's d-pad, numpad4 would be mapped. just want to clarify that.
No it will not brick your psp...
and no it does not work on 2.6.
with the 1.0 eboot: it just reboots back to eloader when tring to launch netlab/luaplayer16
with the 1.5/kxploit: it crashes the psp when the eloader loads.
I know that luaplayer16 never worked on my 2.6 so that makes since. does anybody know a way to get this to work on luaplayer14?
I would love to try this out
This is great idea for a project. but the psp dpad sucks though..... great start, hoefully this will let us do the inverse.. use pc gamepad to run psp.

so does this mean i could play my halo pc with my psp?
seriously this has bring another usage for the PSP
this is only version 1.0 and this is the first program the author made so give the author some breaks
my only concerns is that the wireless not only it sometimes breaks connection, but it did sucks battery life like leeches
so yea my only suggestion is that made it USB Friendly
i got this message when i try to start PSPReceiver.exe.
"Component 'MSWINSCK.OCK' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"
does anyone know where this file is.
i'm running Windows XP.
Help
Thanks.

Is it possible for the Software when it connect with no errors that it shuts down the screen;)
If yes please tell me how :)
With the Best regards Valvaris
^^^ Works flawlessly with it!It's perfect!I don't have to pay $$$ for a wireless controler! As I can see you have included source code,so I will modify it so everyone will be able to modify controls(by entering ASCII code for every button)
Everything seems to work fine, but the activity light isnt blinking? whats wrong? how do i fix it?

SOZ THAN DUNT WORK V SORRY
THis is kinda cool, although pointless for me personally, as I have plenty pc and converted xbox gamepads.
Although I guess I could try it out for the novelty aspect.
Please I don't know which index file that I need to change the IP address into. very confusing
i think its a cool homebrew prog, but playing with an gamepad is still 1000 times better than this!
I've had the same problem
The activity light doesn't blink
i have everything working, connected and on the psp says its connected, but the thing doesnt blink on the reciever? WHY
this is my same problem too, it doesnt blink. someone needs to help us out?!?!
@38
since this is a simple client/server thing... i wrote another client to connect thats written in C and is a regular EBOOT.PBP file... so you dont need lua player at all... its got a few things i need to work out with it... right now i hard card the ip in the c file so i need to make a config file for it before i release it
I'm not certain how to get the client to choose my second connection. I'm not at home so the first WiFi connection I have won't work and the client just sits there instead of trying the next one.
you have to edit the IP in the index.lua with wordpad and change the ip to your computers ip (it also says it in the read me) and it will work
So how do the gauges show up on the psp? All games do something like that or is that somethingspecia l for that game? psp
ANYBODY TRIED IT WITH HALO PC?
this would be great in combination with an option to upload pics back to the psp to show on screen of the psp, like automap when in games, this could be realy cool.or like the initial speed o meter in the demo vid.
if there is an option to show a default jpg that can be refreshed quite often. this could be great in combo with an image grabber. the imagegrabber could grab a screenshot of a portion of the screen (a couple of times a second) or so (like speed meter, or amount of life, or weapon info) and show the screenshot op the psp, while controling the game.
Maart
The gauges were removed before he released them and they were only specific to the game he did the demo on.
Check this link. Been using this for a long... time...

Dude, that would be great!
I have everything set to exactly how the tut said. i have my IP address set correctly. the port is open in my router. the program starts on my psp, connects just fine, and the "reciever" program also starts up just fine on my computer. when i press any button on the psp to see if the activity light comes on, it doesnt. but the WAN light blinks on the psp. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.
This program is great, a wireless PC gamepad, thats your PSP! great idea! keep it up!
Great work Racer_S!!
this program made me wasted 3 hr of my time in the end same problem as 68
Do I need to be a geek to get this to work :(
look at it as process of elemination.
if everthing runs on the psp and pc correctly and the psp wan light blinks when you push buttons (assuming that it only transmits when a button is pushed) but the pc doesn't see it.
then there is a problem between psp-pc. since the only thing really configurable is the pc ip then thats gotta be the wrong ip.
Make sure you are using the pc ip and not the ip of your router.
good luck
Come on guys PSPVNC has been able to do this for quite some time. Simply go into game mode. That and you can see your PC screen on it too...
Yeah but PSPVNC's controls are unresponsive and you can't map them niether
hey will this work on 2.80 firmware???
lol
Hello will somebody answer me will this work with 2.80 firmware???

Racer_S loves Multi Theft Auto!
It works for the first few buttons I push, but after that it just stops working. the only way to get it working again is to exit the psp lua app and then open it again. does anyone know how to fix this? if not where can I find something else that does the same thing?
