It's been quite a while since the last version, so right about now's a good time for an update: mediumgauge has released PSP Filer v5.7. The full changelog for the latest version is as follows:
  • general:
    • fixed a bug to be frozen while accessing UMD (depending on CFW's version).
  • filer:
    • added a feature to scroll left to draw file names wider in deep folders.
    • fixed a bug to have shown a wrong bit rate of VBR MP3 file.
    • fixed a bug that some MP3 file cannot be played which has a large (>64KB) header.
Again, make sure you check out the readme. There's a whole folder of readme files, actually, with various translations from Spanish, Greek, Bulgarian, and of course English, among a lot more versions. The means have been provided, use them.

fixed!= not filer 5.7, is red squirl cfe conflict

disabled red squirls cfe and filer 5.7 works great! no crash at pic view. i use rs cfe for brightness/scrnshot=to save battery useage = set at 28 or so. i use filer 5.7 at all times, so if i could find a brightness/scrnshot plugin to use instead, would be great.
