Have an inkling to keep your PSP's growing collection of custom kits spic-and-span? Mediumgauge is letting everybody know that his highly popular PSP Filer homebrew application has just received an update, pushing the app up to version 3.0. As the names implies, PSP Filer functions very much like File Assistant in keeping your files organized, but hosts other cool extras users may remember from its past versions. As for the latest changelog:
  • Fixed a bug that caused after changing language from Japanese to English or Spanish, Filer crashed when changing filenames.
  • In Spanish mode, special character could be used in filename in 2.9,
  • That was a bug so I removed this feature. Even in Spanish mode, user can input only English mode.
  • Added Portuguese mode. (thanks Nutri Kazuma to translate)
  • Added color edit function.
  • Added CPU indicator.
  • Picture viewer: Fixed a bug that 4 or 16 colored gray scale PNG was not correctly drawn.
Be extra sure to view the bundle's Readme, which includes very important warning from the author, such as "This software may cause severe damage to your PSP by your miss-operation or by bugs Filer itself may have." Just be careful, and enjoy the download!

» desing

the design of Filer is not so good they should make it like Fileassistant's design

» Pointless

Really, with the OE flash 0 & 1 USB Modes, this makes this pointless... honestly...

Plus, The Text and Design isn't that user friendly. At All.

Pros use only, and those who don't have access to a computer (excluding n00bs of cause)

Last but not least, QJ are DUMB for posting this, now Forums will be expecting BRICKS to deal with, AGAIN... www.openoneware.com

» Disagree

Very useful, at least for me. The flash0 and 1 of the recovery mode are a little dangerous since a power failure or a common windows lock-up may damage your psp if it happens when writing a file. PSP Filer relies on your PSP battery so it makes a little more difficult to brick your psp while changing prx or whatever on your flash.

» Wrong...

... and right, still, its not useful. Unless your a n00b who can BSOD XP in 1 go... try PSPFiler and brick your PSP, cause its difficult to use... Fantastic.

» ^^stupid

Only someone uber stupid would say that this is useless. Filer is not the prettiest, but it is the best explorer out there. It is even capable of fixing corrupted files on the memory card , which XP cannot connected through USB.

» ...

XP can fix corrupted files, try "chkdisk X:", X being the PSP's drive of course. Add the /f flag to have it fix the problems it finds, too.

» I know this is old..

I know this is old but psp filer is EXTREMELY useful..you can change your whole psp theme on the go.......(waves, custom flashed background(01-12.bmp), custom icons(topmenu_p lugin.rco), battery icons..look at this theme set:http://i17.tinypic.com/2vdp2lh.jpg

or

you can change the whole theme with pspfiler in less than a minute if you know what you're doing.
