Homebrew developer mat_dizzy has announced that some features for PSP Earth v0.5 has already been completed and is operational. The Webcam Portal application will be released sometime next week with an all new "futuristic look" in Black, Silver and Grey on the SHR, abandoning the old Yellow and Orange look.

The following features have been integrated for version 0.5:
  • Live Weather Forecast
  • Better GUI
  • Full Screen Live Webcam - (Like Build 0.2)
  • Easier To Operate
  • Less Pathetic Jokes (mat_dizzy's own words)
Developer mat_dizzy also informs us that an EBOOT format will probably not be available this year, but will likely be out next year. The author also addresses some criticisms that PSP Earth is "just a silly application" so thoughts on future features will include venue opening times, picture galleries, video galleries, sound tracks, and other things the author can come up with.

In mat_dizzy's most recent post, it was also mentioned that a fellow developer stole parts of the source code from PSP Earth v0.2. The author wants to make it clear that PSP Earth is 100% free and always will be, but that the original code must be credited when used by other developers.
