Ó

Loosen up my buttons baby.0okm's telling us to loosen up those buttons and to stop fronting about the darned thing. Slap me now for the Pussycat Dolls reference, but if there's an excuse to make a really freaky reference then you can be sure that excuse will be used up.

Back to business. Like him or not, 0okm has been quite active in the development scene, from introducing interesting news tidbits and rumors, to making stuff like the Hen C AutoExec modification. His latest release is a button changing application for PSPs, which he calls ButtonHook.

Once again, let's offer the standard disclaimer. If you don't know what you're doing when it comes to homebrew programs, stop right here, because you might do something very unsightly to your PSP's inner workings. Knowledge of code will do wonders to save you from the trouble using a PSP whose controls are now haywire. In any case, here's his installation procedure:

Copy dh/kd/271CtrlP0okm.prx to MemoryStick
  • Add line ms0:/dh/kd/271CtrlP0okm.prx to ms0:/dh/271F/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf.txt and ms0:/dh/271F/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf_game.txt
    • see pspbtcnf.txt.sample, pspbtcnf_game.txt.sample
If in MemoryStick root have CtrlP0okm.bin then it will use it to Hook the Button.

Like we said, it's not a program for the newcomers to the scene. Regardless, if you have the know-how and the elbow grease to do some button tweaking, you'll probably enjoy this new app. You have to wonder what it does to a button-testing program though. For more information, check the code on the source link, and good luck homebrewers.

what it is...

"You know those controllers which allow the programming of one button to perform the action as a result of rapidly pressing a series of other buttons — typically used to assist in the execution of combos or fatalities? Well that’s what 0okm’s latest homebrew creation essentially allows: PSP ButtonHook enables the ability to hook different actions onto one button."

RemaPSP

Well, sounds like it's almost the same as RemaPSP, right ?? Nevertheless, it's good to hear from 0okm again. I like him ;)

I like him, he knows how to get TA- users to 1.5 .

Wha!

Like RemaPSP doesn't work with 2.71SE-B. :P Get CheatWS, its got remapsp functionality built in. Gotta love danzel! :) ( Remember, ur using his keyboard half the time online. ) Now give the TA-082 suffer'ers a way to get to 2.71SE-B'' isntead of remaking something that was surly overlooked by most, but Danzel did it no doubt, and did it well. GJ regardless...

solution for japanese PSPs

Here is the solution I found in a forum. It worked for me. But you have to be very careful: 1 - download FileAssistant-2005-08-29 (newer version don't let you write over flash1 on your psp) 2 - get DH4.6 full, copy the registry folder to MS root (there's 2 files on this folder) 3 - copy all file from file assistant to psp/game/recovery 4 - reboot PSP and go to recovery menu (hold R while reboot) 5 - run the fileassistant eboot, and after several error messages you'll get fileassistant menu 6 - using fileassistant, overwrite both 2 registry file in flash1 with registry file from MS (from step 1) and be carefull !!! 7 - press select to reboot 8 - gotcha !!, X+enter O+cancel

wtf

wtf is this ***** about "like him or not" ? Ookm is one fine dev and he nows his thing way better than most other psp-wannabe-devs around. A noob like you shouldn't be spreading the hate around just because Ookm decided to STOP giving out 1.5 downgrades to TA-82 users BECAUSE OF R. SOLES LIKE _YOU_ THAT FLAMED HIM AND *****ED AROUND.

I used Chaos Zero's DevHook 0.46 Ultimate Installer 1.1.1 and installed devhook to my HDD. (I said d:\temp was my PSP) And the registry folder which I need was in there somewhere. Here is the link for Ultimate Installer: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/673
