PSP Audio Recorder [Beta] |
Ó
Moonlight, from the forums, has released a beta version of a new project he is working on that will enable users to record audio that is played on their PSP from a UMD or homebrew. In the past we have seen several screenshot tools, but no audio capture tools like this. This audio capture program will record the audio that is played by the PSP when you tell it to; allowing you to start and end recording several times. The recordings themselves are saved in WAV format (10mb for 1min) in your PSP/Music directory. With this first release, it allows you to record audio from a UMD or homebrew using L+R+Circle to begin recording and L+R+Square to stop recording. When I ran Lumines from my UMD drive, the PSP appeared to have a bunch of buttons held down. At a second glance, I was not holding any buttons down. This is of course, the only issue with this program at the moment (stability). I began recording at the start of Lumines (second try) and when I went to my PSP/Music directory, I found the recorded file. The sound quality that was recording was excellent; and hopefully I'll be able to dance to some of that great music in Lumines with future releases! With this current release, you can only execute homebrew located in PSP/Game/Homebrew. The author notes a few problems that he has observed with his beta: - While you are recording, the sound that you are currently listening lags. Don't worry, the sound that is being written to the file will be better.
- Some times, 44 bytes files are written because that application/game reserve an audio channel but then they don't use it. Those are empty wav files, delete them.
- Also, some times games/homebrew output silence to some channels, so you'll end with some wav files that are fully silence.

nice i have been waiting for one of these for a while! but will htis allow you to run pspradio and record shoutcasts? hope to see more releases
You,I now will be able to record psp radio.Cnat wait to get home to try it out.
10 MB for 1 min and is wav. wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice, can you do a mic hack and a program that records sound from a mic?
I know that this is very N00Bish, but is it compatible with 2.0+?
Jst read the forum post. This is 1.5 only(no 1.0), and requires kernel-mode access. I just hope that Fanjita and Ditlew will try to make this work *hint*
"WTF!! 10 MB for 1 min and is wav. wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Because its a wav file you *****. Compression would take up lots more resourses and lag the app/game you were playing.
AWESOME!! Time to rip wipeout pure tracks! lol and recording PSP Radio, 1337 idea!!!! If someone made an app liek this and combined it with PSP SHOT or capture and made an app that did both that would be cool
damn it doesnt work...hopefully someone will edit the source code
awesome app! I'd suggest you make talk about adding this to the already amazing IRSHELL....How about it? You could still continue building it stand alone too you know. It's just an idea. -Apoklepz
Doah! this would be sick as an integrated function of IR Shell, with record/playback control as a library or class that could be coded into any homebrew, i.e. PSPRadio, PiMP Streamer, etc. ironlung
If someone could just make a video-recorder besides the GTA:LCS one(proud to be 1.5)
with the progress of these types of programs, it sounds as if a tv out might be possible someday... WAAY later, im not saying it would happen soon, or ever... but it would definately be cool to have a tv out app that runs from software i'd think if you actually got a good streaming video from the psp your only problem would be to make an output to tv... the remote might give you a few options, i dont know if you'd be able to playback a video signal to it considering they're buttons. and there might be simple hardmods that could do the trick. just throwing things out there and giving people who love to flame for stuff like this something to chew on. Nice app, cant wait to see some MP3 and stability go up, good to see more homebrew for the PSP
this prog is lovely..i've been waiting forever for a way to record the music in the city of "guia" in legend of heroes and i finally did :D thanks alot
Good idea but you could also use the audio jack to record from as well.
Yeah! Now I get my MD and play football with her!!! MD is a Old equipment!!! If my PSP to record Wave with 48khz or 96khz using a MS 2GB, I'll play my MD in a Basket! My english is not so good OK!!! But the News is a best information Brazilian user!
