If you plan on stealing a psp any time soon, just make sure you insert that registry entry pronto!
I'd just remember to disable the net before using a stolen psp!

Anyways don't get this, I expect this guy to make another version of this soon with the ne ATPSP that just came out as well.
the only way this would be secure enough is if it wasn't on the memcard, so it needs to be hidden on the new modchip perhaps....? then it would be useful.
I think its fairly safe to say that someone who is stupid enough to steal something is also not going to realise that it could have any "security" on it, and so it doesnt really matter how 'secure' it is watto
Most people I know have dynamic ip's.
IP tracing utilities are often inaccurate and only give a general idea of area.
ISP's will not give you information on users if you supply them an IP.
If you are using linux, you can steal all of the PSPs you want without any regard to getting caught?

This anti-thief system is already overrated by PSPU.
how is this supposed to send out an email?
im assuming firewalls or email programs would give away the "email" and the user can stop it from being submitted......

It'll work on 2.7 firmware, and all firmware from here on out.
Thing is, autorun.inf is a file that launches each time you connect or insert a new drive or disk into the computer. If you happen to insert one with a virus inside, your computer will automatically start it and destroy itself.
There are various and numerous ways around the actual autorun.inf file, one includes NOT allowing Autorun to start on Windows systems. That's the easiest and cheapest way to circumvent all anti-theft crap.
It uses a PHP script to send the IP/Browsername to the specified email...
You can now use the system as a SPAM BOT!!!

I would try to send an email, try to make a TCP/IP connection my web page to have the log, try to make a ping.
THEN I would execute a delightful del *.* /s on the guys harddrive starting by the Windows directory.
If somebody stole your psp, at least you can make his life looking like hell.
Most likely you will not get back your psp anyway...

I personally find autorun a pain, and have it disabled on my computer. So that means I can steal PSP's to my hearts content right?
but what happens if it accidentally thinks that ur pc isnt your pc and it starts deleting evreything then u screwed ur self over, or if u forget and go to a friends house and u want somthing that he has like a movie or somthing and it screws up his pc so that would be to much work worrying about screwing up pc.

Maybe the Mac Adress should be in the reg key
In this version everybody who own one psp can stole as many as he wants (or just put this reg key in, if he wants to stole one and donĀ“t have it) - with mac address it would be better!
I've put this on my usb drive and my plan is to modify the bat script slightly so after sending out an email it will add an entry to the the startup list to force a restart upon startup then force a restart on the computer.
Just need to find a target to try it on.
It was a good idea but I don't think it'll work well. As long as somebody has that registry key then it won't send the email. I think the original version is better.
Really cool Idea, but without a warrant my friends, you cant barge into someone's house. And IP tracing is illegal in these situations, as it is with many. But meh...
Couldn't you just edit the batch file and the reg file, so that they put the key into a different location then what was set by default?
Which would basically make a unique location for the key, so that even if the person who stole the psp, had the same key he probably would of not put it in the same place.
1. if u kno about this make sure u put the reg file in ur comp
2. u could use thos homebrew file managers and delete it from ther....
3. if the memory card is 32mb throw it away... its not that much i mean 1gig cards r like 30 bucks
4. go to a friends house or at a store or sumtin

well.... my problem is.... the autorun wont run at all.... i tested it with 3 diff comps.... 1 is the real owner wer i installed the reg.... then the other 2 comps i tested is w/o the reg.... it wont do anything.... the autorun wont run the .bat file... i clicked it manually and thats wen i got my email
I advice everyone to modify the bat file and reg file to change the key so it's not pspantitheft. Use anything else as thief are not stupid and all they would need to do is have the default registry key added to their computer.
if you use the USB or using a card reader, WinXP Pro would pop up a prompt if there's a Autorun file. I don't know about everyone here, but I'll be very cautious and choose to stop the autorun process.
Maybe other versions of WinXP just run it automatically without the popup?

this is the same as ATPSP except instead of identifying you as NOT the theif, this one identifies u as the owner. pointless, same app. wuts the use of another one?
and yea, If i steal someones PSP, I wont get caught cuz I have thise registry on my comp, =P

Let's embed an autorun application that loads up bitcomet's tiny bittorrent application and then starts download all of today's popular movies. Let the MPAA take a piece out of them. "Well you see i STOLE this psp... i didnt download tha tmovie i swear!"
Lol, I think I'm gonna expand the bat file a little to call another executable if you are not detected as the owner of the psp. Of course the app could be anything you want, like a virus, keylogger, trojan etc... But it could be a problem if you forget about it and connect it at a friends house:)
It works on 2.7, I tried it.
I put my email into the index file and clicked on it about 5 times, and i never recieve email from it. Ive tried on 3 different email accounts. It wont work on any of the 3 anti theft programs. Whats wrong?
#30 IQ doesn't mean anything , my IQ is around 130-135 and I can sometimes fall for tricks , I don't even think I'm really smarter than 98% of the north american kids of my age like the IQ thing said , if they would have said 80% I would hace beleived them :) , anyways this thing is awsome , why din't sony think of this , they are retarded I guess , their IQ of their average workers must be lower than 70 :).
This will be interesting once we get some fully featured story with someone getting their psp stolen, and doing an ip trace and having a high speed chase on the way to Buckingham palace.
Yawn, someone tell me if its actually useful.
