Sony PlayStation Portable - Image 1My god, that's a humongous...list. QJ.Net Forum resident owfx dropped by earlier to announce the release of the 3.30oe/3.40oe theme pack (final), a compendium of some of the PSP's more well-known XMB themes for custom firmwares 3.30 and 3.40 OE.

Aside from carrying 32 full-blown themes, this pack also carries custom icons, volume bars, font sets, XMBWaves, and a theme flasher in case the users wish to mix-and-match their own sets. We'll provide for a list of the files below in case you guys want to scan what's in the pack.

Just make sure to have a bit of space handy when you begin your download - the bundle will go for about 34MB. Enjoy, and make sure to thank owfx via the QJ.Net Forums for making this bundle!  And of course, kudos to all the developers who went through the pains of creating all these themes - our hats off to you!

hey does this work for 3.03 oe-c because i dont wantt to upgrade. If i upgrade i wont be able to use vice city and liberty city stories cheat devices! Unless edison carter can get his stuff figured out... unlikely:(

» ...

no it wont work with 3.03 OE-C. Just update to 3.40 OE and use devhook to emulate 3.03 to run cheatdevice. thats what i do and its fine

» omg

that is AMAZING

but i am one of the lamo-s still on firmware 1.50.

Does it work for 1.5??????

What are the benefits of upgrading anyways...??

ANd i have a friend at firmware 2.60, can he upgrade to a custom firmware?

by chill392 - 2007-05-14 13:01
» Wha?

So we're using custom icons on 3.40 OE now? Because last time I tried a theme flasher for 3.40 OE, I semi-bricked, and it was inconvenient.

» 1.50 is pointless now...

3.40OE-A does EVERYTHING that 1.50 does, except you don't have to use devhook to use all of the newest games. 1.50 is worthless now IMO, and if you haven't upgraded yet, its just because you're too lazy to look up how to do it/what the benefits are.

so now i guess theres no reason not to upgrade to 3.40oe?.. im at 3.03oe-c should i upgrade?

Running 3.30 OE Firmware and managed to half-brick my PSP three times using different themes. Every time I can see "Sony Computer Entertainment" and my PSP stops responding as soon as the XMB tries to load. Seems like the "topmenu_plugin.rco" is responsible.

» Problem with lflash_fatfmt

I tried to install the Ultimate Black package and I got a message saying that there is not enough disk space. So I copied my backup of Flash0 back to the memory card. The PSP still boots to 3.40OE and I can play games etc but now I can't get back in to the Recovery Menu. I tried to re-install 3.40OE from scratch thinking that maybe something didn't get copied to flash correctly when I restored the backup files but get an error

Opening and validating DXAR....

Cannot load lflash_fatfmt file.

How can I fix this? I assume I need to maybe rewrite my backup of Flash0 but can't get in to the recovery menu to do so. Any ideas?

by beva - 2007-05-15 11:18
» yep pretty dumb

I feel your pain guys with the ultimate black problem. I had a similiar problem by installing the regular ultimate black cause it takes too much space and i had to delete some random useless files off my flash i think i deleted like gameboot or somin to make room i don't remember. What i would do is get the 3.03 downgrader to 1.50. Idk if it will work but maybe it will if not try to downgrade from 3.40 OE-C to 3.03 OE-C. Uhh alternatively you could use some kinda homebrew that lets you modify your flash with a USB cable maybe irshell? not sure bout that one but look around you might find somethin then just get a dump of the flash files and try to reflash it. If that isn't a possibility i think the winstaller for 3.03 OE-C could work with it cause it has all the premade files.

I notice that the 01-12.bmp is a lot larger than the original sony one. I tried deleting that and installing the theme, but still no dice. Hope someone figures this out soon.

by @jack - 2007-05-15 11:55
» Maybe

You could use an eboot that writes to flash like flash agent or something like that.

u just use the 3.030e-c update i did it today

b/c ultiment black didnt have all of the icons and i coudnt use wify

by X - 2007-05-15 12:16
» Ultimate black

Ultimate black doesn't work because the combined replacement files in the resource folder are about 400KB larger than the combined files that they are replacing. With flash0 as full as it is, no wonder it doesn't work.

by this is fake - 2007-05-15 15:58
» this is fake

every theme will semi-brick your psp no matter what method you use. apparently the creator of the winrar wanted to pull a fast one by uploading as many themes as he could while being too lazy to cover the top menu with a clean 3.30/3.40 topmenu. this works if you use the original method of replacing icons on a clean top menu, but installing this off the winrar will sem-brick you psp.

to creator of this ~ next time don't be lazy because now you just lost a supporter

Everybody who bricked his PSP completely with is MUST be really stupid...

So to answer a few questions:

1. Really a lot of you have problems with space on the flash0.

To solve this problem just delete a few files in MS0:/font/.

BE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING THIS!!!!

I think you can delete the files ltn5.pgf and above without problems. You can delete some other files in this folder, but I'm not sure which files, but that should be no problems, because you can recover it with the backup.

2. Themes also work on 3.10 OE, but it wasn't reported much.

3. Themes also work on 3.40/3.30! When some themes doesn't work, just use RCO EDITOR. The newest version should also solve this problem ;)

» Flash0 full?

Im trying to install the blue vista theme and it tells me my drive is full...any ideas?

by Oni Kidou - 2007-05-19 15:35
» A couple of themes are missing

It's stated that there are 32 themes in this RAR file, but I only counted (or rather my computer did) 30 themes. I did notice that one of the two missing themes was the Mac theme but I can't put my finger on what the other missing theme is. I also notice that icons for the Wii theme do not show up as they do in the screenshot. Everything else works great. Just those the two missing themes (finding that other missing theme is giving me a headache when it should be easy) and the Wii icons need to be fix. Hopefully in an update.
