Protect-Me pre-Final version revision 0.9D |
Ó
A new build is out for Protect-Me from homebrew developer maxthebest. Protect-Me is an application that allows you to lock your PSP with a password. Protect-Me is now in its final stages of development and is now on version 0.9D.
This latest version sports a new security measure that makes your unit display an error message if a user gives the wrong password three times. Here's the changelog for Protect-Me version 0.9D:
- The interface is now the same in the prx as in the pbp installer (nicer one)
- After 3 tries with wrong passwords, the psp displays an error message and you can only shut it down with a hard reboot.

This is NOT protection... you can still access the M33 Recovery Menu without entering the password, so all you have to do is hold down the left button to boot into the recovery menu and disable the protect me plugin.
That is like locking your front door and putting the key under the door mat. Unless you can force the password to be entered before entering the M33 Recovery Menu, this is a waste of time and completely useless with a false sense of security.
Fix the glaring bug or get out of the homebrew market.
I mean the "right" button, not the left... just a bit upset about this blatant misrepresentati on of a product that doesn't do the only thing it was designed to do... keep people from accessing your PSP, in which it fails miserably.
