Ó
Operating systems Mac and Windows are like apples and oranges (Pun intended? Probably). So when it comes to using them with our dear PSP handhelds, we've got to have different homebrew applications. Take for example PSX2PSP from developer KingSquitter. It's for Windows, yes, but it also has its Mac counterpart as well.
We've actually reported on Prometeus before. Created by Dago^WATT, the application allows for manipulating PSX games and making them compatible with 3.02 OE. Accordingly, there was a rather nasty problem in the previous release, which would sometimes generate a defunct EBOOT when performing the conversion.
The bug is now, of course, fixed not to mention that the conversion and the games themselves run faster. In case you guys are interested, there is actually a somewhat Pro version of the application that can be obtained by donating one dollar to Dago^WATT. The Read link below will take you to the developer's personal page. The Pro version, lastly, has these following features:
- Create folder with Game Name, automatically copy there KEYS.BIN and EBOOT.PBP.
- Allow different PNG sizes (but not allow bigger than max size) except BACKGROUND.PNG (it has fix size).
- When you change Game ID Number or Game Name you don't have got to press Enter. (Just Press Start button).
- Live preview.
- Unpack / pack PBP files.
- Supports direct CD-ripping.

But stop complaining, you get the exact same tools we get, with the exact same functions (for the most part). The only difference is that we get a decent GUI in exchange for the programs being a little harder to find, and in exchange for not having a bazillion clones of it.

All we need now is for QJ to start giving us some Linux news, and we'll be set. However, given how Windows-centric this place still is, I doubt that'll happen any time soon.
