Homebrew - PopStation PSP v2.0 - Image 1

SuperFury1 is back with an update to PopStation PSP, the app that will let you convert PSX games to eboot on your handheld. This version now allows you to change your eboot's save id, game title, and game id according to date retrieved from psx.db.

Here's the release notes:

v2.0: Added a list of psx titles & IDs. It will now change the psx EBOOT save id, game title and game ID, according to what game you select (list is retrieved from psx.db. The psx.db file might be outdated, search Google etc. to find the most recent one).

Don’t misunderstand this as being rude, negative or insulting – but what is this for? Use a PC to rip as PSX title, transfer that title to PSP then convert it to eboot? Why would anybody do that? Again, if I am missing something, please let me know, and if the point is just to prove it could be done – very well also – I am just having problems getting my arms around the functionality of this.

What it does is it converts a PSX game image into a eboot. This then enables you to play that PSX game on your PSP. Pretty handy if you ask me :D

so this is the last step in converting correct? im still workin on the first step... but this will come in handy cuz i dont have a pc of my own and everyone i know trips out about me installing apps on their pc's. so if i can install only one app and do the rest on psp that would be grate! so i would like to know a simple yet affective app that would lead me to this one if anyone could help me out. thanks

you can do it all on your psp, unless you want to rip your own psx cd's.

If you wanna rip you own games then all you really need on the pc is an ISO program to rip the cd's into ISO's or BIN files.

If not, then you need a way to obtain ISO's/BIN files. There are a few websites the let you directly DL them or you can download CTorrent for the PSP and torrent them. You will also need an app like IRShell to open the torrent file with ctorrent, and to (if necessary) un-rar them.

After that youll have the image file(ISO/BIN) to use with popstation PSP.

I get that, take a psx image and convert to eboot. What I don't get is why do it on your PSP? The image will have to be ripped using PC, then transferred to PSP for conversion, then deleted from mem stick...why not just use POPStation for PC?

I am very adept at the computer. I have kubuntu running under wine running off of Linux (I guess), its my deceased brother-in-laws comp, my wife's (mine) now, and I can not run anything to convert psx images to eboots! This is a blessing from the psp gods for me!!!! Dont dismis me as stupid or inept either. I've become great at getting programs that arent supported on my comp to run. And no popstations work. at all. I am very happy about this app, 5 stars if it works, I'm downloading.........NOW!!!! @ thedolphin, dont take your computer setup which runs programs for granted holmes.
