PopStationGUI v1.0A few days ago, we told you about danny_kay1710">danny_kay1710's nifty application PopStation GUI. For starters, this program would be really helpful to those who have embraced DarK_AleX's 3.02 OE-B because this would make converting your PlayStation games to POPS format as easy as pie.

The last time we talked about it, this app was still in its beta phase leaving it with more room for improvement. Now, the dev just said goodbye to beta as he released version 1.0. Since danny_kay now has more time to devote to his creation, he added some pretty nice, extra features for y'all. So now, what can you do with this app aside from the obvious? Here are some of the new things he hooked us up with:
  • Now can use iso's and eboot pictures from anywhere no more manual copying!
  • Now you can select the pictures you want to use in the GUI and the GUI will automatically create the eboot with them pictures
  • Now you can edit the Game ID, Game Name and the Saved Game Name so no longer will your game appear as Hot Shots Golf in the save game menu and no longer will your save games get overwritten
That's not all! The dev provided us with a very useful and helpful readme file that comes with the download. Now it wouldn't hurt if you would browse through it. Kudos to danny_kay for this! Download link's right there, have fun!

I seen better.

This one is much better and was release same tim eas this one. http://www.qj.net/PSX2PSP-v0-5-Another-simple-PopStation-GUI/pg/49/aid/77575 /> Check out some of the features v.0.5 info: * New name. * Handles already converted PBP files better. It is now possible to change title, game id and all other info in allready converted PBP files. * Preview option. * Extracts save ID from ISO file. * Gets game title from DB. * Separate game title and save title. Multidisk games can have different game titles but with one save title. * Shows what region the game is from.

Where's the eBoot?

All I have is the Keys, why?
by CBMaster - 2006-12-29 01:05:36
Yes yes yes!!!!

Good job! Now I can remove all the files in my PSX Eboot Develop Tools since they are all included here!
by - 2006-12-29 01:05:51
DONT WORK

UR LINK DOESN'T WORK MAN WHATS GOOD??
by - 2006-12-29 01:41:48
nice!

Very clean frontend.
by - 2006-12-29 05:28:57
Hmm, BASE.PBP file included?

Again, no-one cares, but is including the BASE.PBP file actually illegal?
by - 2006-12-29 05:35:04
Umm, the ICON1.PMF customisation doesn't seem to work.

Although I've not actually tried it, generating an EBOOT with a custom ICON1.PMF doesn't seem to work (look at the generated EBOOT in a hex editor, you'll see the null pointer). I would assume this is the same for SND0.AT3 customisation. So... program still has bugs...

?

That first reply on on the first post was mine... The QJ staff hi-jacked my post lol. He fixed the link but then put his name on the reply instead of leaving mine.
by CBMaster - 2006-12-29 09:23:10
No game data included.....

No data of the game is in the BASE.PBP, just the SFO, pictures, and DATA.PSP(which is POPS emulator; DATA.PSAR is the game EXTRACTED)
by - 2006-12-29 10:18:03
erm...

This program sucks. Try Simple POPStation By Zinga Burga. Its easier and have a built in database with all PSX games released by SCUSxxxx. You just put ISO, output folder and select game title from the provided list. Under that you get the custom image part with ICO0.PNG, PIC.PNG (or UNKNOWN.PNG) and PIC1.PNG. Hit convert and thats it. Why is the SCUSxxxx number that important? Becasue to make multi-disc game work properly u have to make sure the game title and Game ID is the same for each disc and this app include the correct numbers. much simpler than PSX2PSP-v0-5-Another-simple-PopStation-GUI Dont download this halfassed effort of app
by Hockeytree - 2006-12-29 10:31:24
No, it is not legal.

The pops emulator is Sony copyrighted material, in essence making this illegal. But QJ doesn't seem to care anymore, or they don't read posts.

@ MySpace Tom

I don't see you making apps so until u do i wud rather u didnt judge what a "halfassed effort of an app" is

Runtime error '53: File Not Found

I get an error when converting my file, WTF does that mean???
by - 2006-12-29 13:55:42
Okay, now I've got another promblem

I got it to work but when I go to the game in the XMB menu, it dosen't say the name of the game, it's totally blank and just shows the "PSPOne" icon!
by - 2006-12-29 18:33:58
Wrong format

Shouldn't it be ICON1.PNG? (and PIC0.PNG/PIC1.PNG too of course) Can that be the problem?
by - 2006-12-29 21:13:29
Works Great

I tried the PSX2PSP one, but when I started the game from the XMB it just gave an error and said "Game Cannot Be Started". Then I just used this one to convert FF7 and it worked great, with custom icon and pic. This one's the easiest I've seen too, the BASE.php and KEYS files are already included, just unzip and run the exe and it's quick too, finished in around 5 minutes, probably a bit less.

silent hill

has anybody got silent hill working
by - 2006-12-30 15:23:36
Silent

Im running Silent Hill atm. Just converted, runs nice and w/o any problems so far.
by - 2007-01-03 10:55:34
WTF

It converts the files perfectly and it is a good converter. But whenever i try to play one of the games that I have converted it pops up a message saying that i need to activate the system. Does this mean that I need to go out and buy a PS3 to activate my PSP? I downloaded this file to stop the need of a PS3 and the costs of downloading the game. Is there a way to avoid this stupid copywright check?
by - 2007-01-04 09:58:02
what will happen...

What will happen if I try it on a PS2 game insted? and I get the same message as michael. Is there a way around that?
by - 2007-01-05 12:28:42
re: WTF

you must be running 3.02 OE (a or b) or 3.03 OE (only A atm...) to use your stuff... you need a copy of Hot Shots 2 psx key file... then u can use that file for the rest of your games... but im not sure u even need the key files anymore... i am running 3.02 OE-B and have no problems playing any of my backups
by - 2007-01-05 12:32:28
re: what will happen

PS2 games are in a completely different format, and are much bigger than psx games... if you have a 4gb stick you MIGHT be able to put a ps2 game on it, but there ATM is no firmware that supports ps2 games... that might be a feature on the psp2, but all info regarding even the existance of a psp2 atm is pure speculation... some may say it doesnt exist, some say it does.. make up your own mind as to believe it or not... i do believe that there will be a psp2. i dont think they would be making a 60gb 1.8" hdd for our current psp's. they have a 4gb hdd and thats about it so far...

Answer to exiodus

Do I need to be running one of the custom versions of 3.03? just that I have the sony version and was wondering... I have tried what you said about the KEY files and i still get the same message: 'To use this content, you must activate the system.' Can you give me anymore advice as to what is wrong?
