Popstation - for Linux and Mac users |

So why should the apple and the penguin be left out of the POPS madness? Linux and Mac">tinmanx got busy with his skillz, banged up some code, and here we go, two new Popstations that work on Linux and Mac OS X. Because why should (ahem, "name of OS publisher that's also a rival to Sony in the console department") Windows hoard all the PSP homebrew fun? (Yeah, really, why should they?)tinmanx says that "you might need to 'chmod 777' the file to run it, but it's been tested for both OS's and works." Other than that, he also hopes to produce a PowerPC version soon. Beyond that, however... tinmanx offers no further details on what to do with these files. A question from a Mac user noted that the Mac file was "obviously" a terminal app, but he doesn't know how to proceed from there. Hopefully tinmanx will get on line at the forum or in the comments to offer some help.
Zip file below contains two more zip files, each appropriately labelled as the file for Linux or Mac.

tried the terminal for MacOSX, but simply doesn't seem to work.
Made an ISO from my Final Fantasy VII (with the help of Toast, made first a Toast-file and renamed it as ISO file, is that correct?) and put it in the same folder as the terminal.
Which codelines do you have to enter?
What does "chmode 777" mean?
thx and greetz
p.s.: where do the files go then? In the Game150 folder?

In Terminal, cd to the directory you placed the popstation file and run the command:
chmod 777 popstation
This sets its permissions to Read/Write/Execute for everyone.
That will then allow you to run the program from the Terminal using a line such as:
./popstation ff7.iso
Hope this helps,
Lemmy.

Dowload link is at the bottom of the page.
Once downloaded, double click the program, say "Don't activate" on the 2 messages.
Then go to: Info > Get info and choose the popstation terminal command thingy
Then a window appears, press command (apple logo key on keyboard) + 2 and then set all permissions to: read, write, execute and hit apply.
That's All :)

thanks for the help. Got a Mac since 20 years but never used the Terminal. And of the "chmod 777" I never heard of it.

I tried everything but I always get this message "BASE.PBP is not a PBP file.".
I'm using the Hot Shots 2 game. Changed the name of the EBOOT.PBP to BASE.PBP, but the popstation seems to have a problem.
"./popstation ffvii.iso
Writing header...
BASE.PBP is not a PBP file."
The base.pbp which I am using is 143.7 MB big.
Does anybody have an idea what problem I have?

The Eboot is HotShots 2 Emu for PSP. Tried it out, works fine, just doesn't seem to work as a BASE.PBP.
Am trying out with another version of HotShots, have heard of the same problem on other sites, but no solution yet.
