Thanks to a tip from reader TiGuy, we just found out that developer cooleyes has updated the PMPlayer AdVanCe media player to build 20080121. Given that it's been a while since the last update, here's a recap of what this does: PMPlayer AdVanCe is a homebrew application that will enable users to run PMP format files on the PSP.

While today's updates aren't that many (just two, actually), they're still noteworthy: cooleyes states that this new build is now compatible with Dark AleX's custom firmware 3.80 M33. Quoting the developer's original notes (run through Google Translate)

1. 3 xx amended version of the M33 version 3.80 can not play under the main problem is 3.80, and there is a change nid
2. G-8 club directory browser
   

Since there isn't a readme provided witha  readme bundle, users are strongly advised to visit cooleyes' original site for full details on PMPlayer AdVanCe. We do note that at least the app has options for an English interface.
