PMP Mod AVC v1.02M_g subtitle mod |
Ó
A new day, a new PMP mod update. Lots of people get to modify their media players, but one mainstay in the homebrew scene (and one whose releases are very much looked forward to by many) is Madruscoe. His PMP Mod AVC allows you to play videos on your PSP in full resolution (and it can support subtitles). Also known as moneytoo in our QJ forums, Madruscoe updated his application once again - uh, correction: twice again.
The January 11 releases have these changes:
- Version 1.02M_g (11.01.07) tuned by madruscoe:
- fixed freezing when displaying osd without inserted battery
- fixed completing description of controls (some left)
- Version 1.02M_f (11.01.07) tuned by madruscoe:
- fixed single line subtitle limit in .sub file (now if its more than 62 chars, new line is added so subtitles are displayed correctly - no more gray strokes)
- added extension .avc is supported and displayed in filelist
- added basic support for analogue pad (only up/down in filelist)

...however how will this app remain relevant now that 3.03oe-b is here?
becouse the 3.03oe-b is not as good quality and has no subtitle support... files are smaller in pmp for better quality than 3.03oe-b
SIck.
What do ya mean not better quality?
It uses the same codec, X264, maximum rate of 768kbps but any higher and its massive file sizes.
Ave used PMPMODAVC since it first came out (fair played to Jonny) but not any more since 303OE-B my movies are just as good encodes as they where with PMPMODAVC.
PMP mod doesn't play playslists?
pmp looks great. but the office in 480 x 272 res on my psp in avc looks freakin amazing.
3.03 oe doesn't support multiple audio tracks or sub titles at all, there is also more flexibility in the encoding on pmp and it's bitrate.
Might be that PMP is better, but as long as it is still hell to get some decent encoding done in Linux with default tools (what's up with this little hack needed to the x264 encoder so it spits out PMP compatible h264 video?) ... PMPMODAVC is kinda, limited in it's use on my PSP.
I'm aware some enthusiast made a static-linked (grmbl) mencoder replacement with the necessary x264 patches, but man, it sucks when you don't have an SSE2 capable processor...... and the sources weren't released (yet).
...battery life + volume/lumi boost, nuff said.
oh k?!
ok, i tried this, but when i load the player, it tells me to press X, when i do, i return to the XMB. i tried to run the video through there again, but it wont let me. im using 3.03 OE-B as well.
PLEASE HELP!!
