PiMPStreamer working on 2.0+ PSPs! |

Ó

YEAH! DickyDick1969 has just confirmed that a little bit of magic by Raphael has just made it possible to run PiMPStreamer on your 2.0 and above PSPs!
If you want to start thanking people, my advice would be to first start with Jonny. He started the process by taking out the ME (Media Engine) code out of PMP Mod. Thus, all that was left to do was to add the replacement code which would substitute the ME. And that's what Raphael did.
And finally, the PiMPMaster, DickyDick1969 made a few changes to his app to make it run on 2.0 and above PSPs. And yes, it has been tested by him. Here's what he said on his blog- "Yes!! It runs now on 2.x PSPÂ’s !! Enjoy!! Just put the 2.x files in the PSP/GAMES dir and edit the pmp.ini for server settings and eLoader will pick them up. (tested on a 2.6 white psp)"
In case you're thinking, the 2.6 white PSP is his own. And guess what? It's bought using the donations which he got for PiMPStreamer! So all the guys who donated, a big thanks from us here, seeing how it helped everyone.
Anyways, the process doesn't sound difficult. Download the file, unpack it, and move it to the PSP/GAME Folder and edit the pmp.ini file with your IP addresses. For the 1.5 PSP owners, fret not! There's an updated version for us too! And it solves a few minor issues.
Great news huh? Now get downloading!

Ok I have firmware 1.5 ... newest pimpstreamer .62
I have made a folder on my mem card at F:\PSP\VIDEO
I have added directories to the Windoz app
I have update the ini file to look for my ip address (and not the 192.168.1.1 one but the actual PC's one)
I keep getting the following error on PSP...
Current stream directory: " "Error connection to host 68.xxx.xxx.89:3333 "ms0:/PSP/VIDEO/" not found or empty, or host not connected
Any help??
Also would it work to put in a name instead of the IP address ... like me.no-ip.com (using the no-ip.com ip redirect) ??
Thanks
Oh BTW - PC is XP machine

Is there a way if you have more than one dir listed to go back to the main listing ... or once you choose one you have to restart it to choose another DIR?
Any ideas on the noip thing? .... I'll try it out tomorrow and see if it works...

Oh, and I'm using 2.0 and eLoader 0.97.

Use 192.168.1.100, or 101 or something like that. should work for you...
BUT... and this is important ( I think... maybe or was it for portable VNC? I can't remember).... when you make your internet connection in the PSP menu, and it asks about address settings, hit CUSTOM, and fill in ALLL those lines with the Primary DNS, and what have you.
get that info from your comp. go to Start: Run. Type in CMD. when the black box xomes up, type in ipconfig/all and it'll give you ALL the info you 'll want to plug into the PSP when you're making your internet connection...
Like I said, I can't remember if this is for this or Portable VNC, but this is how mine is set up, so maybe it'll help you

they got only streaming directory " "
the problem is easy to resolve:
create a VIDEO folder in psp (near game and savedata)
copy output.avi and put it in the video folder
DONT edit pimp ini with NOTEPAD or you ll broke it!!!!
its a character codage problem!
Edit pimp ini WITH MFC WORDPAD or OFFICE WORD or any program who understand multi character codage.
And it will work. (this problem is from the 55 version)
