PimpStreamer - Image 1

Not one to be forgotten, DickyDick1969 has just released an update to his great video streaming homebrew, PimpStreamer. Now at v0.77, the application is mature enough to not require any fixes which is why this version has a few new features:
  • Updates Windows DLLs, latest ffmpeg svn build.
  • You dont have to copy the SUB (subtitles) file any more. PimpStreamer will detect the SUB file on the PC and copy it to your mem stick. (Note: only SUB not SRT, just convert it with various tools)
  • Image pause
Dick would also like to thank all the donators who've donated about 400-500 Euros in total! This means that he will be buying a new PSP specially so that he can test his work on a 3.03 FW PSP (His current one will stay at 1.50). He also said that his latest version allowed him to stream a whole concert without any stuttering. And it seemed that minimizing the application (server) in Windows helped a bit. Anyways, have fun with PimpStreamer!

» wpa

I wish this program would work with WPA, but as far as I know it only works with WEP, and I don't want to use WEP on my wireless router.....

So DD1969, please work on WPA for your great program....

» this app was great

it never really worked well for me... the video was choppy and would lock up my pc after i selected a couple different files... i think most of the problem is my wireless network seems to be slow.

» copy

you must copy from game to floder game150

by TODAYinTECH - 2007-01-30 08:35
» For a price, yeah.

My understanding is that all you need to stream is a PSP and the LocationFree Player OR a PSP and a PC running PiMP streamer. This is a great application, but you can't compare a $150 device to a few hundred for a PC with an OS. Now if you could run the streamer on a linksys router or an ASUS WL-HDD, now that would be cool.

I managed to get IR Shell and my ASUS WL-HDD running using NETHOSTFS, but its very choppy. It would be great to get PiMP streamer on the PSP to connect to a service running on a device other than a PC, even if I need to convert the file.

» Hi

How do u stream to the internet so that you can access your videos from somewhere else besides your house? A la locationfree

by Bobword - 2007-01-30 17:31
» WEP settings

anyone know where you put your WEP settings at?

i can't seem to connect and i figure it's because of the WEP. can you add this to the .ini file on the pc?

thanks!

by Hubyxxx - 2007-01-30 17:52
» framerate

Try to change the framerate to a lower one. Also check the video size and quality. and instead of selecting the files from the PC, is better to navigate through the PSP.

by hubyxxx - 2007-01-30 17:58
» settings

The only thing you should change on the .ini file is the IP of the server for the IP of your computer, ej. 192.168.1.1, and the pimpstream takes the settings of your PSP'S WLAN config (WAP encription, SSID, etc-)

how the hell do u use this . no tutorial....-_-

by Dieselboy - 2007-02-04 08:05
» Pimpstreamer is a killer app!

I just found about this software today. This is a must have as it streams unconverted videos straight to your psp in amazing quality. Unlimited video wirelessly straight to your psp. Thanks to everyone that made this possible. I can't believe Sony wouldn't incorporate this themselves. They just want you to spend tons of cash on a LF unit.
