PiMPStreamer

DickyDick1969 has been busy testing his homebrew application, PiMPStreamer, on 2.x firmwares. With that scenario at hand, you'd just have to wait a little longer for an update on the said firmwares. But just because that's the case doesn't mean he can't come up with updates on the 1.5! Recently, he came up with what he calls a small fix for the 1.5. According to him, the update grants a "few wishes from the current issues list". So with that, let's get on with the changelog:

- change server config from the PSP user interface (press select)
- directory with ‘&’ inside is browsable
- added WMA and WAV to default extensionlist
- hopefully clear of PSP/VIDEO folder bug now.

Even if DickyDick is already a seasoned homebrew developer, your constructive criticisms, observations, and suggestions would be a great help to him and his work. And surely, they won't fall on deaf ears as the good developer is working hard just to fix all sorts of issues with regards to this work.

MP3 Playlist

Excellent, one of the best bits of homebrew out there... Q. Is it possible to set up a playlist for MP3's WMA's etc? this would be perfect & easily beat the Shoutcast method for local streaming of audio... It seems to state it has the option to add a file to a playlist but have never got this option to work!. Thanks in advance

some improvement needed

woops i have forgot!! need to improuve the compatibility with some odd encoded divx and xvid who dont work (but work on pc) it will be cool to add the posibility of stream DVD! and add a more freindly gui on psp and on server! and i can dream too :p

I second that

Definitely needs compatability improvement, but top of my list is to fix the crashes with Windoze (probably related to compatability problems). Sometimes you get to the last few minutes of a program then everything stops with a packet stream error. Bloody annoying having to get out of bed and run to the pc in the next room to reload it after a crash. Thats the only real problem i have at the moment. Fix that and i'll donate.

for those involved

Skirrow, no probs.. if possible (to everyone) send me details about crashes: 1. is it reproducable ? (happens always with the same file/ etc on the same point) 2. what file/codec/size/position in stream etc..

New Bug

My mp3 directory; 3000+ files and 30+ gb with a few weird filenames, used to work fine in the previous few versions of pimpstreamer but now crashes the psp every time I try to access it with version 0.65. Everything else seems to work fine if not better in terms of video streaming, other than the random few codecs not supported by the windoze end. So if you tend to use this for streaming from a huge mp3 directory I wouldn't recommend this update. Also, it'd be kinda cool to be able to browse by page for huge directories like my mp3 folder as it takes forever to get to certain filenames.. ;)

slowdown

whenever i start the video in the middle or the end (ie. 00:49:00), the video would slowdown and the audio would play regularlly then i would get a packet stream error. btw i'm on 2.6

read the title newb

This update is for 1.5fw PSPs _only_... not 2.6fw PSPs. Which means, croft, that you might want to read before you write.

great work

Great work. support for MKV, OGG, AAC, H.264 and Flac will be even better. I know that it will take a lot of time to enable support for all these futures, but I'm willing to wait.

2.6 here

I know THIS update is for 1.5 but I have a couple of questions that maybe someone could answer for me......1: If i make this program availible with my exturnal ip address I can watch this at starbucks but does that mean when I get home I have to edit the file on my psp again just to use at my inturnal ip address or will it work both ways with no editing?? 2: Why cant this play MP4??? and 3: If my vids are already encoded in .PMP format will this run better ??

16

to comment # 16 i was telling dd1969 about a problem i was having with it. he asked "everyone" to give details about crashes, not just the people with 1.5.

mp3 playing

I forgot to mention it also has the big pink letters on a white background saying PLAYING AUDIO again.. It'd be cool just to have a blank screen again, hehe.

I've looked on google for some site that tells you your ip, but it didn't work... I've tried usin run>cmd, then typin ipconfig to get my ip and it still doesn't work... can anybody explain what i'm doin wrong?
