Sanguinus' explanation for his new release of PC2PSP is kind of funny when you imagine it as the opening Star Wars montage. Still, this new release definitely deserves some praise, if only because he coded it from scratch.

If you remember our previous descriptions of this app, PC2PSP RC-1 (or MK-B, depending on what you're reading) will basically allow you to view and control your PC using your PSP, either wirelessly or through a USB cable... a VERY long USB cable, if you intend to go to another room. The recoding increased the stability, speed, and compatibility of the application, and even works with the Danzeff keyboard system now.

Sanguinus also expects a new release in the next few days, which should add more fixes to his program, as well as a speed boost. For now, don't hesitate to give him props for recoding his app, and offer him your votes of confidence over our forums. Just remember to check the readme if you're planning on using this app, so you don't accidentally mess the installation up, alright? Enjoy!

Installation

Some people coudn't install USBHOST so I wrote instructions for both USB and NETHOST. BTW - Nothing is installed on the PSP. You place the files in the zip folder anywhere you like on the PC NETHOSTFS will run straight out the box You then use IRSHELL to connect to NETHOST Then run PC2PSP.exe in the applications folder. USBHOSTFS Needs installation here is how I did it. Extract the files whereever you like PLug in your PSP via USB on your PSP connect to your PC via USBHOST A new software box should appear and ask you to install software. Click choose drivers Click install from a specific location Click browse You should have dialog box that is searching for .inf files Go to the folder you extracted and go to the drivers folder. In there doubleclick the .inf file that will install the drivers for USBHost Run USBHOSTFS.exe It should find your PSP Run PC2PSP.exe in the applications folder. Open up the USBHOST directory on the psp. run eboot.pbp.

3.03 OE-C?

Hi! I tried it on 3.03 OE-C, and it didn't work. I think the readme is not enough good. I needed to download irshell, and the readme only said that start irshell when irshell is not in the zip file... I'm done with this part of the readme: 1. Run "Applications\screenshot\PC2PSP.exe" 2. Run "nethostfs.exe" 3. Start IRShell on the PSP 4. Ensure the ip on IRSHell points to the PC which the zipped files are on. You can find out this information using IPConfig on the PC. 5. Start Nethost. It coluld connect also on my pc the program writes something like this: connection accepted, and the ip address. But then the readme writes: 6. In the nethost folder run eboot.pbp (LUA Player) I dont know again what is this... The LUA player wasnt't in the zip file, have I to download this or what?? Then I found it in the irshell folder in a subfolder. When I'm trying to start this from IRSHELL, I get an error. Does it works on 3.03 OE-C? What did I wrong? help plz

Cool, yet slow

It's a bit too slow... Maybe you could do the opposite and make the PSP show it's screen on the PC hehehe.

its a scamm
by - 2007-01-27 12:03:09
yeah ok

Possibly the worst read-me ever. The first step is to run PC2PSP which makes my mouse impossible to movie via PC making the next step pretty much impossible. Anyway I'm running 3.03 OE-C and when I goto Nethost on IR-Shell it says: "Error: can't connect to the Network Host". Yes I'm running nethostfs.exe on my pc. Any help is appreciated since I really want to get this working.

Read Me !?!?!

We need a better read-me guide/tutorial. If anyone has got this application to work properly and can spare a few moments to explain, then it would be considered a great deed, since most of us are having difficulty getting the application to run. I am running Dark_Alex Custome firmware 3.03 OE-C with IRSHELL 3.0. Please Help ;D

by - 2007-01-27 13:26:31
Ok I got it to work

It works now but is it just me or does it lag alot? Also I can highlight items on my desktop but i'm unable to run them. Is this suppose to happen? I'll be looking for a faster version later. Nice job on it so far though.. except the readme =P

by - 2007-01-27 14:03:30

well...

not all homebrew is guaranteed to work on all firmwares for one. Secondly from past experiences i havent been able to set up a wireless connection normally to operate nethostfs in irshell. I think that on the custom firmwares there is something wrong that wont initiate wifi. I only think this because there is no pause as if it tries to connect at all... it just automatically gives the "error: can't connect to network host" while nethostfs is running on the pc. There is a special way to setup nethost that comes in a pdf with irshell.(im suggesting that you redownload irshell and read the pdf with bookr in irshell.) Btw im using 3.03 OE-B, i also had the same problem with 2.71 SE-B' and SE-B", and i solved it by reading the pdf supplied with irshell.
by - 2007-01-27 15:06:30
...

the readme is straightforward really... the easiest and best way to use this is to use usbhost instead of nethost(because nethost is slower and more dificult to setup.)
by - 2007-01-27 15:35:06
ill

Thats really ill guys i remember i used to use PVNC but that was a port, too bad my psp broke. Still this looks *****in crazy
by - 2007-01-27 16:28:28
You're all retards

If you can't figure out how to make nethostsfs work you're all retarded... First of all, run the nethost app, goto START>RUN>CMD.EXE type in IPCONFIG, find you wireless connection, look at Default Gateway IP, open IRshell, goto IRshell configurator, and make sure the options with the IP address match the DEFAULT GATEWAY of yuor WIRELESS connection. Can't make this simpler, people.
by - 2007-01-27 16:36:11
Video

I will make a nethost vid sometime tommorow.
by - 2007-01-28 18:33:40
nuggets

I'm eating chicken nuggets and sitting at my PC pissing my self with laughter, why on earth would you want to substitute a mouse and keyboard for a psp to control a Superior system? Anyway, other than that, hats off to the guy for coding it, but for me, it just seems pointless.
