Ó
After working several times on a nameless PopStation mod, homebrew dev Coldbird now has his sights set on improving the quality of PSX titles being played on our dear handhelds. A couple of days ago, he released the first version of Paladin. To those of you who missed it, Paladin is one nifty application that allows conversion of PAL formats to NTSC. Coldbird has mentioned that these games were troubling him on POPS and so he decided to give it a look. The first version, as good as it already is, encountered minor issues with some games.
Having taken notice of the problem, Coldbird immediately updated Paladin to v1.1. He maintains that the first version should work 99% of the time but if it doesn't, he added two new parameters to the new version: YFix and ScreenFix. More importantly, Paladin v1.1 now supports a helluva lot of games like Final Fantasy VII for starters. We guess that alone would make you jump up and down and get this app immediately.
Lastly, please be informed that Coldbird has made the application open source so it is perfectly fine with him if you tinker with it. Good work, Coldbird. Keep 'em cool apps coming!

can you write a patching program to make games with CDDA tracks to play music from the mp3 folder instead??? you know because
a)it would make the images smaller
b)not all cdda images actually play the music
c)my music is better than thae originals (mostly)
nice one coldbird

While it fully fixes Games like FF7 with one Blow, and Legend of Dragoon (previously known as unfixable...) - It has Problems with FF8, as it seems that FF8 doesnt like the VMode Change, which is currently a non-optional Patching Method of Paladin...
Which means that Paladin will bust that Game even more than fixing it... :-/
It could be that FF8 can be fixed with just the Y-Fix and Screenmode-Fix Options...
I will do more testing with FF8 and if avoiding a VMode Patch really fixes it - Report back
