I guess I just don't understand... Why two recovery menus? The OE recovery has ability to change cpu speeds, access usb for ms0, flash0, and flash1, and autoboot... so the only thing this REALLY adds is the ability to toggle flash2 and possibly flash3? Don't get me wrong, glad to see someone trying to pick up where DAX left off, just not sure this is the right way to go about it... thinking developers with skills like becus25 should be working on 3.51 OE or IE.. If the only new CFW developments we get are for "3.40 OE expansions" we will never progress..

look i falshed it, and i turned on the autoboot, nothing happens when i press start, i just get a black screen

At least this provides hope that CFW will continue. Not sure as to what exactly this would add over what i already have in 3.40 oe (maybe someone could explain clearer than the article does) but when he makes 3.50/3.51 IE i sure will be updating.

This is the end of the CFW past 3.40oe. I don't think we will be seeing a 3.50/01 oe. Everyone will just have to buy the new PSP to play the newer games.

You just wait. Devhook could be updated, becus25 and others are obviously still around + working, hell, if enough people work on GoW there could even be an iso patch to avoid firmware checks.

Oh yeah, and the older PSP mobos can still upgrade to official firmware after downgrading, if one truly desires to throw away homebrew for the new crap.

Becus25 is not the next Dark Alex. If you read through his threads regarding the OE extensions he creates you will see him say ''if no 3.51 OE is released then there will not be a 3.51 IE''. Currently Becus25 does not seem to have the in depth knowledge to do a 3.51 Custom firmware but he might have in the future. I wish people would stop making comments about him ''filling Dark Alex's boots'' or how he is the ''Next Dark Alex'' without even knowing anything about his knowledge and limits. Lets be real.

All i am going to say is let the dude do his work and wait and see. Its plenty of developers out there and im sure somebody has the know how. Maybe we dont need another DAX even though his work was great and appreciated. We may just need another person to step in and show us a different light in the PSP homebrew world. If we keep using DAX leaving as a crutch then we will never have progress for the future.

After installing custom firmware, you should reset default setting. It will clear up blue screen of death and other problems.

i have to disagree with you on that one, sony is winnig because of people giving up, not menting any names, just just gave up and quit, if it was personl reasons , thats fine, but is it illegal to inprove upon an existiing product, well thats what dark_alex and the rest psp modders are doing improving it???

3.40 oe is the best custom firmware, it can handle EVERYTHING the 3.03oe_c CAN and MORE.

i have many proofs but let me say just 1 thing, try REMOTE PLAY on PS3 and you will see which works!

IE would not exist without the OE Custom firmware. Becus25 has made comments that suggests he does not have the level of knowledge and expertise to continue where Dax left off. Of course he may have in the future. If Becus25 manages to release a stand-alone Custom firmware that is his own 3.40 then this will prove all doubters wrong but until then.......

I have to agree that although I give credit for doing anything to help the scene, there is a BIG difference between making an extension for an OE DAX creation and writing a new CF (like for 3.50 or 3.51). I very much doubt anything will come from this.

Theres nothing wrong with talking about 3.51 OE, just do it on the appropriate topic. Start answering ppls questions instead of talking about 3.51 OE.



With that said, I and a few other ppl are wondering why this doesnt appear to do anything. It simply says writing files then done and it quits and nothing happens. No new recovery or anything. The system software version doesnt even say 3.40 IE. Whats up with it?
