Pandora's Battery - Image 1

All for one, and one for all. A project promulgated under the collective Noobz - more officially branded as N00bz! - has given birth to another monumental development in homebrew: a PSP unbricker for every Sony PlayStation Portable. In short summary, it would perform the following:
  1. You run a program on a homebrew-enabled PSP that will convert a standard PSP battery into a jigkick battery. Note that you can't then use that battery normally - so you should use a spare one.
  2. You run a program to generate the unbricker memory stick image, built from the v1.5 update EBOOT (note that this, and the custom IPL, means the release is completely free of Sony copyright materials).
  3. You run some programs on a PC to install the image to your memory stick.
Earlier, Fanjita announced that Noobz and C+D developers would release an unbricker for bricked PSPs as a result of a "faulty decryption algorithm," but the C+D devs thought they could do even better. Chalking up another feat to the Prometheus project, C+D created an unbricker for all PSPs, even without accessing the official software or hardware. But in essence, the feat wouldn't have made successful waves if the the following victories hadn't made ripples to start with:
  • Reverse engineering of the service (unbrick) mode
  • Development of a technique to change an ordinary battery into a service mode trigger battery (and back)
  • Development of custom IPL code along with a technique to sign that code as authentic
Of course, similar to a few CFW releases before, the unbricker was leaked before it was officially released, and C+D has yet to tie down the reasons for the leak. What was important to mention, however, is that the unbricker is completely free, and some people have tried to gain profits from the leaked unbricker over several websites around the world. Yet again, the early release of the unbricker was necessary, even if it was originally planned to unravel at the release of the PSP Slim.

Noobz salutes the members of the Prometheus project, namely Adrahil, Booster, Cswindle, Dark_AleX , Ditlew, Fanjita, Joek2100, Jim, Mathieulh, Nem, Psp250, Skylark, and TyRaNiD - who should also be recognized in their Create and Destroy (C+D) identities as follows:
  • Mathieulh = WiseFellow
  • Tyranid = bockscar
  • Fanjita = FullerMonty
  • Joek = CosmicOverSoul
  • Dark_Alex = Malyot
  • Chris = Caretaker
  • Adrahil = VoidPointer
  • nem = h1ckeyph0rce
Just as Noobz warns, please take care to read the file's readme for the instructions. Failure to do so will cause degrees of risk to your PSP.

Thanks to demologik, EXTER, and MozyMan for the tip off!

1) PC programs only run on Windows.

2) You can turn a jigkick back into a regular battery afterwords, so don't worry!

as they roll out the slim the old fat battery will probably stop production. All they have to do is to remove this way of recovery for the slim... which I suspect they already did.

This is a gift from the Gods! Now you can downgrade a 3.52 PSP and unbrick one! As long as Prometheus (Team Create and Destroy) don't release the source code, theortically, this can be used on the Slim!

# what ?Guest 2007-08-22 16:22
So do you really have to sacrifice a battery and a memory stick forever??.. also, what do they mean by this?? "The firmware in the Memory Stick is not a full 1.50, but a minimal

subset. Therefore, not all applications (such as flashers, or

recovery apps) will load." Can I upgrade to 3.52 M33?

Once again QJ is the last to report major news in the Psp scene. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and sent them a news tip this time as soon as I heard about this. They did not give any credit so in future I will not send any news tips. Others have already learnt. Even unknown sites had this news before QJ. Don't bother crediting your tipsters because eventually the only news you will get are about Test30 Custom firmware 1.5 LE LE OE.

No, I think that this would ruin a non-homebrew compatible ta-082/086 PSP, since they can't run 1.5 without a key patch, which you can't run without homebrew.

They need to make another version that goes to 2.71 for it to be a universal downgrader.

in order for this to work u have to of had oe,m33, or be in 1.50

didnt you read the readme?

"REQUIREMENTS

- A PSP with a Custom Firmware such as OE, M33 or WC, or a PSP with the 1.5 original kernel."

which means this will NOT:

downgrade a psp that is on official sony firmware 3.51,3.52

work on the psp slim or increase sales for that matter

fully recover the id storage meaning that adhoc wont work possible infactructure as well and if youre really unlucky your psp might just not hold the firmware version text in the system settings meaning that you wont be able to play isos or umds because whenever u play a game and it says your system software is this version and in order to play this game you must update to this version or later it is based off of what is in that field on the system information

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

and since you wont be able to use flashers or recovery apps you probably wont be able to upgrade to any CFW

if u dont have windows ur screwed

and once you run this you will not be able to use your battery or mem stick for anything else other than a jigstick and magic stick so you actually will have to pay $20 for a new battery and a new $50 mem stick just to unbrick your psp to a lesser version of what it once was but hey for $70 you can just buy a new motherboard off ebay and have a psp thats just like new with firmware 1.50 installed on it

Please read this, you will be excited. When you click this link, http://xrl.us/ezymoney you will go to a website that will show you how to sign up for another website that pays you 2 - 45$ (PER) to do surveys, sign up for trial offers, and test products.

Companies such as ebay pay CC to have people try their offers, and when you complete an offer, CC simply passes the money onto you. By spending an average of 3-4 hours a week on cascrate,

I have made 472$ in May, 412$ in June, and 271$ (SO FAR) in July. You get paid in real checks from "KNGSIDE MEDIA" every month that you earn 10 dollars or more. It may seem too good to be true,

but I assure you it IS true. Also, with their referral program, you can refer people by sending them your link (you get when you sign up) and for every buck they earn, you get 20 cents also! (Think how much money you can make if you have 100 people making five bucks a day)

You do not have to enter your credit card or social security number. Nothing Harmful can come from CC. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE 18 OR OLDER, I AM 15 YEARS OLD AND REFERRING PEOPLE, AND I MAKE THIS MUCH MONEY A MONTH

JUST SPENDING A COUPLE MINUTES A DAY ON THE COMPUTER! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR READING THIS.

Think it's a scam? Read this(from the website) "We assure you that this is not a scam! Companies need consumers to try and review products, services, and websites and are willing to pay money to have them do so.

Most of the time you're asked to do this without any compensation, what we do is take the money companies give us for YOUR participation, and give you back up to 75% of it!"

There are alot of websites like this, I have tried almost all of them and this really is the best, and legit one.In addition there is a new UK section opened with more then $200 worth of free offers!

actually u just need the homebrew-capable psp to be able to create the jigkick battery and magic memory stick... u'd be able to use said devices on a psp of any firmware... what did u think u needed a bricked psp with those versions firmware? isnt the point that its bricked because it doesnt have a proper firmware written to it???

come on man, think b4 u post. Since this boots off of the memory stick instead of the internal bios, it wouldnt matter what firmware is in the psp or if it is bricked or not, therefore it should be able to downgrade any firmware.. Although i still woudn;t reccomend it as N00bz! said it couldn't restore a proper 1.5 firmware.

To help make the magic memory stick. It says nothing about any restrictions on the bricked PSP.

actually redmetal if you run the applications on a custom firmware PSP you can use the MS and the jigkick battery on a different psp. so all psps are downgradeable...for now. Although it'll be fun to see how sony's gonna counter this one since it doesn't modify the firmware. They'd either have to release a modified battery to stop this or the more logical solution would be to encrypt the ipl in a different way.

its like a safe mode version of 1.5. It's enough to at least repair your firmware or downgrade. It probably supports the same apps that the launch recovery app in custom firmware recovery menus do.

That is correct, this will work in the same way as the Sony Jigkick / Magic Memory stick combination but will not cost you over $100 as Sony charge.

Also a few people have asked why they did not wait for the Slim release, This quote is straight from the Noobz.eu site:

"Unfortunately something happened to shatter the idyll. Somehow, the unbricker was leaked into the wider world before it was ready to be released. Whether this was deliberate, by one of the team members, or accidental via a security breach is still unclear. The fact is that this unbricker appeared on the black market, being sold for huge prices. As far as we know, it is probably very close to the same software that appears in at least some of the 'magic unbricker'/'jigkick' videos.

So, although the time was not right to release this (it would have been wise to wait at least until the PSP Slim release), our hand has been forced. In order to prevent small fortunes being made by leeches, we are giving this unbricker away for free. So - let it be known - if you have paid for an unbricker, then you have been ripped off. I suggest that you take up your grievances with the seller - it should never have been sold. And if you're unhappy about this being released before PSP Slim - then blame whoever it was that leaked or stole it."

And even though the main point is that this fixes bricks, I would highly doubt that you NEED to brick your PSP before you can use it, the Jigkick battery forces the boot from the memory stick rather than the normal boot routine, Bricked or not, it will still do that I would assume

# Here's how I got it to work:Guest 2007-08-22 18:54
Step 1: Extract the .ZIP file.

Step 2: Insert the memory stick that you want to turn into a "magic memory stick." Back up the contents of the stick to your computer.

Step 3: Use the built-in format tool (in the PSP System Settings menu) to reformat your memory stick.

Step 4: Connect your PSP in USB mode.

Step 5: Open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

Step 6: In the command prompt, switch into the 'mspformat' folder you extracted in step 1... wherever you put it.

Step 7: Type "mspformat X" where X is the drive of your PSP. Do not include the colon. For example, my PSP is connected at O:, so I type "mspformat O".

You should see a prompt like this:

>>> C:\psp\pandora\ mspformat>mspformat.exe O

>>> You are about to format the drive O.

>>> All data will be lost. Do you want to continue? [Y]

Type 'y'.

>>> y

and you should see

>>> Drive succesfully formatted, and partition moved.

Step 8: Disconnect from USB mode, then remove and re-insert your memory stick. Reconnect in USB mode.

Step 9: On your memory stick, make sure that you have folders named GAME and GAME150 in a folder named PSP. If you don't have them, make them.

Step 10: Copy the two folders from 'battery' into GAME (for 1.50) or GAME150 (for custom firmware). The folders should be named "pandora_battery " and "pandora_battery %", so they should be \PSP\GAME\pando ra_battery and \PSP\GAME\pando ra_battery % (or \PSP\GAME150\pandora_batt ery and \PSP\GAME150\pandora_batt ery %).

Step 11: Disconnect from USB mode, insert the battery you wish to use as your unbricker, and run "Pandora's Battery Creator" from the Memory Stick section of the GAME menu.

Step 12: ***OPTIONAL - SEE NOTE *** Press Triangle to back up the contents of your battery's flash into a file on you memory stick. The program will automatically exit. Run "Pandora's Battery Creator" one more time. *Note:* This step is REQUIRED if you want to make this a normal battery again; otherwise it's optional.

Step 13: Press X to turn your battery into an unbricking battery (a Service Mode battery). The program will automatically exit.

Step 14: Connect in USB mode.

Step 15: Copy the Firmware 1.50 update file onto the root of your memory stick; it should be the same place as your "PSP" folder. Rename it to "UPDATE.PBP".

Step 16: The extracted folder "installer" contains two folders. Copy both of these into the same place you copied "pandora_battery ".

Step 17: Disconnect from USB mode and run "Pandora's Battery Firm. Installer" from the Memory Stick section of the GAME menu.

Step 18: Press X to unpack the 1.50 firmware files into their proper place on your memory stick. The program will automatically exit. If this step fails, go back into USB mode and rename "UPDATE.PBP" to just "UPDATE", then try again.

Step 19: Connect in USB mode. Look in the root of your memory stick (where you have the PSP folder and the UPDATE.PBP file). There should be a file named "msipl.bin".

Step 20: Copy "msipl.bin" into the folder called "msinst" that was extracted from the ZIP file.

Step 21: In the Command Prompt, switch into the "msinst" folder... wherever you put it.

Step 22: Type "msinst X msipl.bin" where X is the drive of your PSP. Do not include the colon. For example, my PSP is connected at O:, so I type "msinst O msipl.bin".

You should see a prompt like this. I guarantee that your stuff will be slightly different; it depends on how your computer is set up, what sort of memory stick you have, and so on. As long as you get the "Are You Sure? [Y]" prompt, you know that the msipl.bin file is OK.

>>> C:\psp\pandora\ msinst>msinst O msipl.bin

That means that you now have a "magic" memory stick.

You're all set!

To unbrick a bricked PSP (this part's a lot easier, I promise):

1. With a working PSP or memory stick reader, copy the firmware 1.50 update file into the root of the "magic" memory stick, namd UPDATE.PBP, just like in step 15 above.

2. Insert the "magic" memory stick.

3. Insert the unbricker battery. Your wifi, memory stick, and power lights should all turn on temporarily, and a menu should appear.

4. Press X. After it checks the update file, you should get another menu.

5. Press X to write Firmware 1.50 onto the PSP.

That's it... just let it work!

# instructions for idiotsGuest 2007-08-22 21:36
1. unzip pandora.zip , keeping the directory structure intact.

2. Insert pro duo in PSP (homebrew compatible), and start USB mode from XMB

**My PSP is the I:\ drive on my computer. Replace "i" with yours in the following steps**

3. Right click on START, then click explore, Right click on i:\ and select format.

4. Click start ->> run --> and type cmd and hit enter.

5. go to the directory with mspformat.exe, (ex. C:\Documents and Settings\Mike\D esktop\pspRecov er\mspformat)

6. type "mspformat i" then press enter (no you don't type i:\ for some odd reasom)

7. When that is done, go to i:\ and create directory PSP and PSP\GAME

***note: if you're using custom firmware be sure to set GAME to kernal 1.50 in the recovery mode***

8. Copy the 1.50 update to i:\update.pbp

9. in your pandora directories that you extracted, click on battery and copy the 2 directories to i:\PSP\GAME

10. Do the same for both directories within installer

11. With psp, exit USB mode and go to games... now run the installer

12. when that is complete, go back to USB mode

13. in your command prompt (if you left it open) type "cd.." then enter, then "cd msinst" and enter

14. type "mstinst i i:\msipl.bin" and press enter. folow prompts...

15. Now exit USB and run Pandora's Battery Creator from the PSP.

Your memory stick and battery are now set up!!!

My Observations so far:

To use, place battery and stick in PSP WITHOUT IT PLUGGED IN. If it is plugged in, it will just boot normally, so my guess is that you can still use pandora's battery to play games (plug it in start psp, unplug it and be on your merry way). You just need to have it plugged in from a cold boot.

Disclamer: The above statement is only true if you didn't actually get it into the recovery mode. Once there, it will stay there until you actually use it. Changing to a normal battery and/or memory stick will still cause it to boot to that recovery thing.

I saw an option to copy the battery's eeprom in the pandora's battery creator so I did it. Then I used the program and started it up with only a power cord. After I was in the XMB, I put my Pandora's battery in and fired up Pandora's battery creator again and used the command to reflash the eeprom using the file I dumped in the previous step. Actually I tried it twice because both times I got the error: "error writing at address 0x14".

BUT.... It works as a normal battery now!IT shows charge percentage but doesn't show Hours left. Dunno if that a result of what I did or because of the m33 firmware... who cares, it works!

Oh... and because it does the limited 1.50 thing, the 3.52 m33 would not run... but the 3.40 OE ran like a champ and from there I ran 3.52 m33. No problems!!!

As for people asking about working with a formatted flash 0... sorry but I'm not brave enough to try that! If you live around Lemoore, Visalia, Fresno, or Hanford California then PM me and I'll be happy to give it a shot on yours but I'm not about to format a flash 0 on purpose!

As the readme says, Memory stick Duo will not work. ONly Pro Duos. with that said... if you do the above and wind up with a memory stick that only makes your PSP memory access light up(blinking)... then you tried using a 32MB stick or your pro duo is a fake. The only way to fix that memory stick is to format it through windows using a card reader (hey at least it can be fixed).

This is monumental, godlike !

Not that my psp is bricked but it's very handy for those who have bricked psp's lying around bricked by pspfiler, cintromod or something else.

The jigkick battery is like an AED shock device to back up your hearth in hospital. Hurray for team N00bs.

Also i knew somehow that Dax, Booster and the rest had something up their sleeve, maybe it's the last we will see from them !

Proven is that the PSP scene is the best homebrew scene around by far and makes the most out of the hardware.

This is on some parts also good for Sony, because people who unbrick their psp will start buying games/movies/music again. At least, i hope so.

I hoped that this was released after slim psp, but o thanks to leakers anno 2007 everything is ruined.

THANKS FOR THIS GODLIKE tool !

# update to my instructionsGuest 2007-08-22 23:14
When the process is done and it says to manually restart the psp, remove the battery AND memory stick until it boots into the XMB.

I take back what I said about playing games with a pandora battery. Don't do it. It's hit and miss, but once you get a back screen it's in the 'unbrick' mode and the only way to get out of it is to run the downgrader from the pandora's memory stick. It will load from the stick even without the battery inserted at that point (but it won't complete the process without a charged battery installed)!

but yes... after it is complete, you can start it without the battery and memory stick, once in the XMB insert the battery/memory stick and run the battery creator and flash battery with the eeprom image (created with the same program before you modified the battery) and you can use the memory stick for whatever. Without the modified battery the memory stick won't harm your psp at all.

AND... update #3 : Once in the 'unbricker' mode you CAN get back to normal by removing power and battery, and restart with an unmodified battery! (no need to actually run the program) In fact I believe you HAVE TO put in a regular battery after unbricking/downgrading.

# MS pro duoGuest 2007-08-22 23:17
I know they say a 256Mb should be enough for all applications, but a 128MB MS Pro Duo will work? I supose it's enough, because there is no firmware with more than 20MB even decrypted!

Then should it work with 128?

# last battery commentGuest 2007-08-22 23:20
Almost forgot... when you change your battery back, you put the PSP back into the unbricker mode (just by inserting it) so after you fix it, you have to cold boot one more time with a DIFFERENT, unmodified battery. Then the one you changed back will no longer put it into unbricker mode.

Have fun!

yes you can charge the jigkick battery but it will put your psp into the 'unbricker' mode. You'd need to put a normal battery in it and do a cold boot to get back to the XMB.

To run the software (for battery and memory stick) you need ANY HOMEBREW COMPATIBLE PSP

once you have a modified battery and memory stick, you can use it on ANY PSP. Doesn't matter what motherboard or firmware is on it.

I hope Team C+D figures out how to fully repair the idstorage file from scratch using this. My PSP can’t read games from the UMD drive, due to crypto check keys not matching. Basically my PSP is semi-bricked, and from what I understand Sony’s official jigkick can repair this. So I guess Team C+D will be able to eventually, or so I hope.

# should be fine, but...Guest 2007-08-23 03:41
hey ecule,

i've been messing with this now and it seems to be ok to reuse the mem stick... i think the mspformat does is it patches the bin file which makes it bootable from the memory stick..

if you were to have the battery and the memory stick in when the psp is powered off it will try to load from the mem stick to launch the unbricker app...

if the battery is not in place then it will function normally. if at any time you insert the battery when the psp is off and the mem stick in place then it will load the unbrick app.

now the battery is kinda usable but wif some differences.. you can still use it after you have turned it on with the power adapter plugged in otherwise the battery will boot the psp into the mode where it tries to load the unbrick app from the mem stick...

but it is best to have a spare battery.. the only use for the above method is to recharge the jigkick battery inorder to unbrick other psp... or of you happen to brick it again...

well thats what i found out so far... its a great break thru from Noobz and C+D and the rest of the ppl involved...

Thanks again

i have my mem stick in and power on with out the battery, then it loads into you normal xmb. after that i put the battery in and let it charge...

the only problem is when you power on with the battery it will try to load the mem stick.. so if you want to use the mem stick power on with the power adapter.. once loaded then you can insert your battery and play as normal.. you are able to power off as normal.. as you can see the difference is when powering on the psp

other than that it seems to operate as normal.. note that it seems to be fine but dont know in the long run...

You never copied that file from your MS, obviously.

And I'd HIGHLY suggest you don't run that program from the memory stick. Any access to the MS while it's working (e.g. reading the msipl.bin file) could make it screw up. Low-level disk writing tools are *very picky.*

# It won't work.Guest 2007-08-23 04:47
The ONLY thing that the battery is used for is SENDING ITS SERIAL NUMBER TO THE PSP.

You can update the firmware on the battery all you want, but the PSP won't *function* if it doesn't receive a serial number.

This cannot be bypassed.

Maybe it's a problem with your MS. Try another MS (borrow a friend's if you don't have a spare) and check if it happens as well. If not, it's a problem of your MS, if yes, you have something corrupted on your PSP or you're doing something wrong.

Fanjita - Notice how I said, "I think" not "I know"

It was a guess, and that statement in the readme was NOT 100% clear as what you said here was. Thank you for the clarification, and I'm sorry that you are one of the many people that have been offended by my other factual comments, but the facts are the facts, and being condescending won't change them, it will just show how little of a person you are. I thought you where better than that. Guess I was wrong.

However I can admit when I make a faulty assumption, and that IS the case here.

ME -

See, that's how you respond to an assumption, with proper addition to the thought, and intelligence, nice.

But it appears that it actually will work.

1. The 1.5 Update PBP to be renamed to UPDATE.PBP. Is it referrning to the actual 1.5 firmware that I use for CFW install? I only installed the 3.40 LE and I had a 1.50 firmware that I used.

2. I only had 3.40LE and never need to create a folder called GAME150. Is it only needed if you have OE or the m33?

3. after I created the battery and the memory stick. If I don't have a PSP unit to unbrick can I run it on the same PSP to just test if it loads. Is there a confirm button before it runs or it will load and run the recovery automatically. The Bricked PSP is coming but I won't see it in at least a week.

Thanks in advance

That is a good question ^^

just try it.

I dont think there is a rins of bricking if you execute the PSP programms on your HEN PSP.

The critical point is (so i belive) when you write the serial number to the Battery.

Might be you need kernel access there.

1. Same thing

2. I guess only care if your CFW or 1.50 can run those battery installer so whichever works for you then.

3. I am still not sure but I have you have to press the X button to go ahead?

New question.. is there any risk to my current working CFW PSP for making a battery or memory stick?

Do I have to wait for someone to sell a pandora's battery and memstick on ebay? Mann. I don't know anyone with custom firmware or a 1.5 psp or anyone who is willing to risk downgrading. (I have 3.51) And no one on ebay is selling them for a reasonable price.

downgrade using the lumines method. to 1.5

then did all the other stuff.

Decided not to use my sony battery.

Found was able to use a datel Max power 3.6 1800 psp battery (Model number LB 1000) and covert that to a pandora device.

Was able to get to the restore screen using that battery and memory card.

Removed memory card then battery and then replace with unmodified battery, without atempting to flash.

was then able to boot normaly to 1.5 and then update back to 3.50

A quick stroll through ebay found a couple of absurd auctions - the main one being a guy selling majikal unbricker batteries for $400 each. Others are selling nothing but the the same info this article... these people deserve to have their PSPs bricked by combat boots.

It's more like you need a PSP that can run homebrew to *create* the memory card and battery. After you have those you can use them on any PSP including the same PSP just used to create them. It's a chicken and egg question. If you don't have access at least one homebrew enabled PSP you can't create the tools you need to unbrick a PSP. Simple as that.

In the command console type this in for the flash logically part:

desktop\msforma t\msformat (in here goes your psp drive letter)

For the msinst.exe

In the mem stick root place the msinst.exe so it is there and the msipl.bin is there. Then in the command console type in:

f:

msinst.exe (psp drive letter) msipl.bin

and there you have it. You will have an unbricker.

# You could try...Guest 2007-08-23 16:34
...running the command prompt itself under compatibility mode. Just find cmd.exe, right-click it and pick XP SP2 from the compatibility tab in properties. Then it *should* run anything that's started from it in compatibility mode too, but don't hold me to that. I don't have Vista so I can't check, but it's worth a try for those that do.

At this point if i was sony i would just give up start selling unbricking kits for 90$ and make the firmware allow homebrew.

i think that by saying u need a CFW psp is that u need a homebrew enabled psp to do all the mods, especially with the pandora battery... now that i think of it it could have been worthwhile keeping my psps. altogether i had 4, 2 bricked and 2 broken screens and finally you tub was very useful for the screen installatin tut.

Wrong. You can unbrick any PSP, and you don't even need to be bricked to run this, so you would be idiotic to intentionally brick your psp just to run this.

» yes and no

It's more like you need a PSP that can run homebrew to *create* the memory card and battery. After you have those you can use them on any PSP including the same PSP just used to create them. It's a chicken and egg question. If you don't have access at least one homebrew enabled PSP you can't create the tools you need to unbrick a PSP. Simple as that.

SO I CAN create the TOOLs with my PSP TA-82 CFW 3.52M33-4 using This umbricker homebrew and some spare battery and some memory stick!? My PSP wouldn't be affected as long I use another Memorys Stick and another battery for built this Umbrick tools!? Then the spare battery and the spare memory stick would be the tools(Pandoras Box) to umbrick or downgrade any Bricked PSP for The moment!? ( any PSP 1.50-3.52, CFW or OFW BRICKED)

U know my PSP software or hardware would be affected If I use spare battery and spare memory Stick?, The thing is I want to built this Tools to Downgrade any OFW 3.52 PSP TA-079 or TA-082 etc..! I got this friend how is bugging around and he wants that I found some downgrader for his PSP OFW 3.52! Im I ask my self If this Umbricker works too as downgrader!? and I can still use my PSP CFW 3.52M33-4 TA-82 to built this Umbrick/downgrade TOOLS using his battery and his Memory Stick! And then My PSP will be a normal CFW 3.52M33-4 TA-082 PSP if I put back my own battery and my own memory stick!? It will be the same NORMAL PSP that I have after I built this toolS for Umbrick or downgrade another PSP! Its not for mY own averege its for some friend! And If I can do this and still use my psp even If I do this tools with other battery and other memory on my PSP?, that its not mine and I dont use it, I use it on my friend PSP! It wil run?

Ok! This is an hipotesis ateps:

I use my PSP CFW 3.52M33-4 as a helper to built(create) this TOOLS, using the pandora Umbriker/downgrade homebrew, a spare battery and spare memorystick!

Then I use this battery and this memory stick to umbrick any PSP and to downgrade a OFW 3.52 PSP?

If I want to use my PSP CFW 3.52 M33-4 again like a normal CFW PSP, the only thing I have to do is Put my original normal Battery and a Normal Memory stick on it! to use it as a normal PSP and not as a helper PSP! Or a PSP that will use the ToolS, rigth?

Cuz , the thing is to use the Pandora Box tools to umbrick or downgrade any PSP after I built(create) them with a Normal CFW 3.52M33-2, 3, 4! rigth? Then the PSP I use for it, its was only a helper to built(create) this tools and his sofware or hardware wouldn't be altered just for using it( PSPCFW) as a helper! rigth? because its only a PSP helper to help other PSP to be Umbricked or downgraded!

Then the spare battery and the spare memory that I use for create this tOOLS, would be now the PSP pandora Box Umbrick Tools ! and they can't be restored back to be a normal Battery and normal memory stick! Rigth?

Well I just need to get this Questions and Doubts! answered if anyone knows and wants to answerer then it would be more than help for me and for anyone there who has the same doubts like me!

Thanks ! lavino for make me ask this questions my self! I need now anyone there to answer them rigth! So i can convert the hipotesis to a solution!

hey, if you have a psp over 3.50 can you brick it, then unbrick it to 1.50 then upgrade to custom firmware, it sounds long but this could meen you dont need another downgrader again.

You can either delete the files, or just keep them there and put other files on the stick, so that you can still use the stick for unbricking in the future if you need it.

Personally I use my magic stick in my camera as standard storage.

yea they do u! and they arent getting rid of the fat batteries they last longer than the slim ones and even if they tried it they woud have a hard time seeing they wouldnt need to create a new one and there are probably too many old ones ( over 5 million to be more accurate )

I just downgraded my old psp (beatup) from 3.52m33 back to 1.5 then up to 3.00 (non-OE) then back to 1.5. That rules!!!!!!!!!! !! Does the "NAND" backup allow you to return to another firmware if you decide to "Undowngrade"?

I tried it. I'm a pretty computer savvy guy too. I thikn I just really bricked my other PSP too well. lol When I bricked it I mis-matched some of the flash files (firmware versions) and nothing but a power light after that.

With Pandora's Battery, it just keeps the power light on, on my bricked PSP. Sigh... I thought it would do it. All good though. I'm sure it works for others though. Good work people, I hate the way Sony controlls their stuff, so keep stickin it to em!

Use a homebrew enabled psp to make the jigkick battery and magic memory stick. then put those 2 items in the bricked psp, or the 3.51+ psp you wish to downgrade.

# I made an easy tutorial! with the real comands and everything!Guest 2007-08-26 16:23
U know some comand were confusing I just made them crear! ex: like the one said = "msipl.bin"in lower caps I just typed like that and it said cant read then I typed msipl.BIN in Upper caps and it works!

Im now going to downgrade a Psp tomorow with this and bill 20$ for it ! Unless him want to do it by it self! Totally doubt it! cuz some peolple r afraid of doing this stuff cuz they think they going to srew up! and some cuz they dont know how to do it! But I know since first downgrader stuff i didnot bill to do it I did it for free but this Im going to Bill! just 20 bucks or may be 10!

but only to people that are suckers! Like my friends! lol!

non of them has downgrade a PSP! Well see ya! my email is martnog90@hotma il.com if anyone needs help free with this pandora stuff! I had done it and now is easy! just contact me for live support or mail suport! Thanks!

open DOS command window (cmd.exe) and exemple extract the folder mspformat in the drive F and type F: enter, after you type cd \mspformat and then enter. after that you type mspformat PSP driveletter exemple H.
