SimpleAmpSephZero and Team Shadow have released another update to SimpleAmp, a very slick-looking music player for the PSP. This is certainly one of the best MP3 players to for the PSP with the great GUI, the professional design and amount of features. It works at 333 Mhz, supporting MP3 files with bitrates from 128 up to 320. Skin features are also included if you want to personalize your player!

The new version is called Simple Amp: Reborn, and here's the changelog:

- id3 v2 skipping (to avoid header read errors)
- .mp3 songs buffering
- clock work frequency reduced to 266 to enhance battery duration
- new audio functions: NORMAL, SHUFFLE and REPEAT
- improved graphic visualisations: EQUALIZER, OSCILLOSCOPE and BOTH
- Audio Gain Volume
- Fast rewind / Fast forward
- main graphical restyling
- enhanced graphical core
- various bugs fixed

Thanks to SephZero of Team Shadow for letting us know about the new release!

What's the point of running a music player at 333 mhz?

If anything, there should be an option to clock the psp below 222 mhz.

it could be runned at 222mhz..but the refresh of equalizer and oscilloscope will not be so fast..

have a fast-fast-forward option, or maybe a jump option, something to jump to a wanted song in a big mp3 file composed of various songs, like those DJ mixes.

I have lots of those and its a pain in the a$$ that each time i want to hear a song that it's like in the middle of the mix, i have to fast forward for 3 minutes till I hear it.

Jump to a song in a big Mp3 file would be realy great, but then SimpleAmp doesn't need anything other then .cue support! ;)

But could anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong!? I run SimpleAmp, and my PSP hangs (the screen doesn't go black, but the control don't work, and i also can't return home)?

Very awesome UI, this thing is very close to taking my away from using DJSP. I'm still getting chipmunk voices with lower bitrate stuff and the slow fast forward can be annoying when listening to comedy CD's or books on mp3, but other then that this program is amazing. Good work guys, keep it up.

I downloaded it and put it on my PSP. I like how you are able to mess around with the db level.

It's sleak looking too.

Definatly a keeper for me.

# PLEASE MAKE THIS APP MORE LIKE DJSP!! HERES WHY:RaiderX 2006-07-28 17:28
I talked to the creator of DJSP, Andy Fung, and he told me why he coudl not continue progress on his amazing app. It was because he sold his code to those stupid liars (if you remember a few months back when those peopel were saying they were gonna revolutionize the PSP by linking ALL firmwares together with filesharing, media players, etc) and they never did *****, so he got cheated out of his amazing application. I dunno if he ever released his source, but if anyone who works on SimpleAmp wants to contact me, I can probablky get Andy Fung to lend his source code over for you to look at.

The reason being, DJSP has about 6 or 7 visuals all that run flawlessly in 222mhz, it also plays high bitrate mp3s, has fast foreads and slow-mo, an AMAZING equalizer, and even an edited version of LUA player to play lua coded apps while listening to music!!

I LOVE SimpleAmp and it has GREAT potential! If you gear it in the right direction, it can be perfected!

Again, if anyone in Team Shadow wants to contact me: tyrantfire8@yah oo.com

Hey I figured out why it kept freezing when I launched it, well at least I think I did? The first mp3 in the file list when you pressed start in simple amp was actually corrupted data - not sure how that happened but as soon as I removed it from the memory stick - Simple Amp goodness is mine MINE MINE!

Cheers
