Neo Spring Coding Competition 2008: Emu Loader - Image 1

There have been many emulators created for the PlayStation Portable and it is sometimes hard to keep track of them. It's a good thing that developer TokyoDrift has created a homebrew application that takes care of most, if not all, of them.

The name of the program is Emu Loader and is part of the on-going Neo Flash Spring Coding Competition. This is highly useful as it starts most of the emulators that have ever been programmed for the Sony handheld.

Aside from that, the coder also noted that it's also very helpful because users of this application don't have to see all of the emulators in the XMB or GAME menu. Here are some of its features:
  • Start all emulators in 3.xx kernel
  • You can see which system is emulated
  • You can see which name the emulator has
  • You can see which version the emulator has
  • A very sorted GUI
  • Shows ICON of the emulator
The coder also added that this program has not been made possible without the help of other coders such as Hedda1 and PSP1000. The program comes with its own Readme file so be sure to check that out first to avoid any problems.

Wait, wait

Let me get this straight: It's just a loader for emulators? .... you mean, like the XMB?
by MahSixFo - 2008-03-22 07:01:42
Hmm

Yes Like The XMB, But It Saves Your XMB Getting Clogged Up With Emu's.. If It Worked, Which It Doesnt.. (''') - .- (''') RAWR!

Oh And By The Way

This DOESNT Come With A Readme..

@MahSixFo

Why in the world would one want to load their emulators through this? Obviosly this has been made to save time, you don't have to browse through all your applications, but it would be faster to locate the emu you want to use from the XMB. I see this as a cheap way to steal credits from the people that made the emulators.

Hmm

No I Dont Want To Use This, It Contains Tons Of Emulators Which Just Wastes Room, This Aint Getting My Vote, Im Voting For Bugz!! xD
by aldostoolscom - 2008-03-22 11:13:22
Nice idea, but...

Some of the included emulators are not the latest version. It would be even better if the emulators/roms would be downloaded/installed on demand. That way the unused emulators would not take space on the MS.

Kinda nice.

This does save some time when you got like 100 things in your xmb however, some of the stuff that comes with it are not some of the things that I use, it would be nice if I could take out all the junk that I would not use and put only what I would use.
by zx-81 - 2008-03-23 03:00:57
nice concept

keep up the good work, Zx
by revscott - 2008-03-25 06:50:14
I like it.

I just removed the EMu's I didn't use and now instead of 9 emus on my xmb I have just one. This program does just what it was intended to do. Nice work. -revscott
