Screenshot moduleDevhook has been heaven as it is, yet Nekokabu has come up with a module that will make Devhook a more exciting application.

Nekokabu's add-on screenshot module for Devhook allows users to take screenshots from the games or the XMB via Devhook. In case your memory fails you, Nekokabu is also responsible for bringing us the N64 ROM Renamer.

Now, thanks to the translation of the screenshot module's readme file by QJ's all around wonder guy Jeff Chen, we can give you more info about this latest application from Nekokabu.

To install, copy the enclosed "screenshotbmp.prx" file into the "ms0:/dh/kb" folder. Then edit the following files:

If you want to take screenshots inside games:
  • ms0:/dh/150/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf_game.txt
  • ms0:/dh/200/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf_game.txt
  • ms0:/dh/250/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf_game.txt
  • ms0:/dh/150F/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf_game.txt
If you want to take screenshots in the XMB:
  • ms0:/dh/150/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf.txt
  • ms0:/dh/200/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf.txt
  • ms0:/dh/250/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf.txt
  • ms0:/dh/150F/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf.txt
Edit these files, put "ms0:/dh/kd/screenshotbmp.prx" under the line of "ms0:/dh/kd/devhook.prx".

Just like iRshell, to be able to take a screenshot, you just have to press the music button. On the sad note, taking of screenshots won't work in all cases. If this add-on to Devhook appeals to you, the download is provided below...you know the drill. Enjoy!

I fixed it. I had one file which i forgot to edit, and also I edited those .txt files and pasted the line of code on its one line (rather than pasting it right after the previous line of code)

so, the code goes in its onw line, do u need to edit every single one listed for it to work?

# you paste that under the line that says devhook.prxRaiderX 2006-07-02 23:54
my cumps have those little box things instead of new lines, so i think i have to change all fo that for this to work. When I try ti, the mem stcik light flashes for half a second and thats it. So I know its trying. If its not that, I have no idea what it is

And can we only edit the one in FW 2.50 if thats the onyl fw we boot in devhook?

And those askign where the images go, I opened up the prx in notepad and foudn that the directory is: "ms0:/PSP/PHOTO/capture/"

# yes! i got it!RaiderX 2006-07-02 23:59
I looked at the readme, and it shows that it shoudl look like this:

/kd/isofs.prx

ms0:/dh/kd/devhook.prx

ms0:/dh/kd/screenshotbmp.prx

/kd/wlan.prx

I had /kd/isofs.prx after the wlan one, so maybe other have this also

now that it works, im happy, thank Nekokabu!!

hey guys, here's a tip to add onto everything else discussed here

for me, i had to manually create a folder called 'capture' in the photo directory before the images were actually saved there!

Hmm, my DH folder doesnt have a KB subfolder, should i make a new one or is it just a typo in the readme?

Now its working fine!!

I have upload a Rar File. Extract and copy over

to your psp. I edit only the 2.50 txt Files, because

i use only the 2.50 Firmware.

Do games still run at normal speed with the screenshot add on running?

# YesStrawHat 2006-07-03 09:22
As you can see from my screenshot I was playing Initial D (racing game) and it played fine just as if nothing was in the background, when you take a screenshot, the system pauses and the screen inverts, and it just carries on as normal.
