The third version for Nanodesktop Blind Assistant has been released by Filippo Battaglia (AKA pegasus2000). As the name of the application suggests, this homebrew helps blind people in their daily lives by using the many features of the PSP, partnered with other devices like the Sony GoCam. A couple of descriptions from the developer:
BlindAssistant is able to recognize the name of the people that are present in front of the blind. [...] Using BlindServer, the PSP can execute an image analisys: it can determinate the room where the blind is. [...] Blind Assistant for PSP is able to read a simple text, too.
Here's the changelog for CFW0003:
- Introduced BlindServer 1.1 engine (it has been totally redesigned)
- Introduced /siftdebug option
- New version of BAWCP protocol
- Improved speed of face recognition
- Introduced new cvhaarcascade file
- Introduced trackbars for the probe area and the threshold of the face detector
- New criterium for skipping the face recognizer results
- Several bugs fixed
- More efficient VFPU code for face recognition

i always thought that this project was so cool and i was wondering what had happened to it. guess the devs were just hard at work keep up a great project
