MyTunesRSS v2.1 Out Now |
Ó
MyTunesRSS is an application created by Michael Descher which allows you to access your iTunes library from any computer connected through a network. It's an easy and secure way to stream iTunes files over RSS to other devices, which in our case is the PSP.You can browse your library by album or artist, or you can opt to search for tracks. The app lets you create RSS Feeds or even m3U playlists from any album in your library. You can also download tracks for getting them on your Playstation Portable without a USB link. MyTunesRSS is pure Java, and as such, it can run on any platform that supports Java 1.5 and iTunes.
Michael has updated the awesome application to version 2.1 (thanks oghs08 for the heads up!) to reflect the following improvements:
- download link for individual tracks now possible
- database auto-update set in minutes instead of seconds
- older iTunes versions should work
- display of local/external address in dialog
- error sound when requesting missing files
- bug fixes

i read its compatible with older versions is that right? cuz if i update my itunes wont work anymore
This dosn't work for my psp but it works with my computers internet.
How can it be platform independant when it relies on an iTunes library source?
I cannot work it with my Amarok database on Linux.
does your computer have to be turned on for it to work?????????????????????/

Has anyone got this to work?
No :'( i updated my java, forward port and tried both IE n morzilla and still cannot see ne thing
When I do this through my psp it always say "Connection error timed out"!!!!!!!!!!!!
It works perfectly and it really great, u have to go to ur library file,(mine was in my music documents under ipod) then just put in the ip address and port number and itll take you to the tunes page then just put in the pass and add the rss's

i couldnt get the public IP to work in firefox but the private one works on my psp and in firefox
and im using iTunes 6.0.5.20 and Java 5.0 Update 7
how do i go on it on my psp? is there a specific website????
Before I was using a DOS based RSS stream server to stream my music collection through my PSP.
I just tried this one and I gotta say it's 10,000 times better. I especially love the fact that I can browse my whole collection and even download the songs directly to my memory card all from the web interface.
Follow the directions in the readme html file and you'll be up in no time. Blows my mind how many ways there are to access my music from anywhere now.
rAy
..it doesn't really work on my (devhooked) 2.7 PSP. I can successfully add the rss channels through the browser (and it confirms this), sometimes i get some strange errors or the url is too long, but in general it adds the channels.
then i leave the browser and go the rss channels, but they don't show up, instead there appears a message that no rss channels are added and i'll be linked to some sony pages.
on my windows laptop it works like a charme. i open the m3u files and it plays in wmp. i can also add the rss channels to opera. there are no problems.
does someone has similiar probems?
i'm using DH 0.44 not the new 0.44.1 and i don't have a 333mhz wifi fix installed. but i'm in 222mhz mode, so this should not be the probem.
greetings
cant pimp streamer do this too.....without the use of rss feeds.....???
Sorry for the noob question but when i enter the ip of my computer to access the server, im asked for the user name, but where can i find it, i know the password. Thanks in advance
I remember using the last version that you may need 2 play around with your firewall in order 2 get this 2 work. With Zonealarm, it wont work if your settings are at the highest, you need to lower them.
How many songs can each feed hold? Because i added the feed to my psp, but a lot of my songs are missing.
I wish we could get something like this for winamp...
I'm sick of iTunes, and i'm not going to install it.
yea post 26... the same thing happens to me. Oh well i guess ill have to miss out on this but its okay. I have IR SHell... just gotta get it working. Also, try using 2.6 on your devhooked psp and see what happens. who knows... it might work. Ill try it now adn post if it works
lol it still gives me the same message... blaaah

For anyone having problems with this program, simply replace the 127.0.0.1 portion of "http://127.0.0.1:8080". Just type in the i.p. given in the general tab of MyTunesRSS main window... That should solve all of your problems!
i see the internet ip but it wouldnt work, how do you get it to work through internet and not lan?
how do i get this 2 work on the psp as an rss feed. plz help me
To 30: make sure the files are Mp3 and not AAC. The PSP wont be able to play AAC files. Antother thing I realized is that the songs will prob play on a 2.0 psp. If Im not mistaken, the green button w/ the white triangle (when you're looking at an individual song) is a direct link to the mp3 file, meaning that it will download the individual song on a 2.0 psp. Someone confirm?
it's strange tat it can work on 2.6 but not on 2.71 , both booted from devhook 0.45 .. is there any bug in 2.71?
