The newest update to trickle in from homebrew developer ccpspita proves that sometimes final isn't really final, so now MyPSP Robotics version 4.3 has now been upgraded to 4.4 with support for computer vision coding and implementation on the Sony PlayStation Portable.

The open source computer vision library, or OpenCV library for short, is Intel's take on how a computer can "see" the world through special high-definition cameras. The library allows an artificial intelligence to not only know that it's seeing something but interpret exactly what it's looking at.

MyPSP Robotics v4.4 now houses support for this library, and we believe the Italian developer has already put it to good use with MyEye. The PlayStation Portable robot, according to MyPSP Robotics' previous version, already has the software capability to stream audio and video data from the PSP robot to a remote PSP (and vice versa) via the Sony handheld's networking capabilities.

It also has the ability to recognize voice commands from the remote user and retain, learn, and accept programmed AI into it's onboard database. The addition of a computer vision feature will complement the OpenMind Knowledge Database well, if the AI is to also think, react, and learn from the environment it is traversing through.

However, the current build MyPSP Robotics 4.4 will not work on all PlayStation Portables because of the memory requirements the new features demand. The developer is currently optimizing the code for the PSP Phat, but for now MyPSP Robotics 4.4 will run only the PSP Slim & Lite.

The download package for MyPSP Robotics v4.4 has been provided below to all those willing to test its features, but take care to read the bundled documentation first. You're going to need to shove a few plugins to a localized directory for the entire application to reach full functionality.
