Lostprophet - ostensibly known as PJPSP until now - has just informed us here at QJ that the second release of the legal Chotto Shotto patcher is now available. This release now patches the usbcam.prx file needed by the PSP USB camera to firmware 3.02.Instructions:
- Dump the 'Flash0:KDusbcam.prx' file to the memory stick. If you're on firmware v2.71SE, it could be in the 'KN' folder, not 'KD'.
- Place it in the same directory as the executable.
- Open the program, and Press 'Crack'. If you want to keep a backup, tick the box in the window.
- If the module is valid, it will be updated to firmware v3.02's version.
- The output file will be called "USBCAM.PRX2". Rename it to "USBCAM.PRX", and place it in a folder on your memory stick.
- Flash the file with PSPFILER to Flash0:KDusbcam.prx, or if you're in 2.71SE, you may find the PRX in the KN folder instead.
Lostprophet is also looking for someone who can code a simple flasher with just a text GUI to reflash the module, so if you're able to do that then drop him a line at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Also, first step says to dump that damn usbcam.prx from the installed firmware. But on 2.71SE-C (for instance), this precise prx is NOT available (btw this is why usbcam.prx, along with usbmic.prx, had to be flashed in to be able to use the chotto edit umd + the chotto cam on a 2.71SE-C firmware powered psp).

If not PJPSP work on a plugin that enables this, it would be awesome!

There are many options, as well as four different image sizes: 320x240, 480x272, 640x480, and 1280x960. IQ setting, White Balance, Exposure Adjustment, Effects (there's a nice on-the-fly sktech effect). When it comes to movies, you can choose between four different sizes: 320x240 (15fps), 320x240 (30fps), 480x272 (15fps), 480x272 (30fps), as well as Image Quality setting, White Balance and Exposure Adjustment. Hitting "L" lets you review your photos, and "R" takes pictures/video. Going to "PHOTO" in the XMB, you can view your photos under the "Digital Camera Images" (already had that folder since 1.5; created the "folder" for my camera pics). You can also go to "VIDEO" in the XMB, and udner "Digital Camera Recordings", you'll find your vids, which can also be played on your PC.
When it comes to sizes, my 38 second clip of my room with some music playing in the background (I must say it does a good job at capturing audio) with a res of 480x272 @ 30fps is ~26mb (linear pcm 344 kbps 22.050 kHz). Motion JPEG sucks, but I'll probably compress the vids once I transfer them to my PC.

Don't go saying it's a crap release just because you're a software pirate who spends his life in front of a PC monitor.
So what if you still need the UMD? As long as it works, I have no reason to complain.
