Launch Lua scripts directly from iR Shell |
Ó
You may have thought that with the release of iR Shell v2.2 final a few days ago, the program would no longer be updated, thus leaving us with no iR Shell features to look forward to. Well, if you did you were wrong. Kajo5 from the iR Shell forums has released an iR Shell plugin for Lua scripts to launch directly from within iR shell. This means that you no longer have to launch a separate program in order to run Lua games/applications. Here's what Kajo5 said:
"This is my first try to post something so hello everybody. I created an external EBOOT that loads LUAPLAYER.PBP and automatically launches the lua script selected in iR Shell. I made an external EBOOT and didn't modify the Lua code itself because I think updating and changing Lua versions should be a lot easier now."
This plugin uses Lua Player v0.16 with netlib support which is probably the most stable version of Lua player out at the moment. Just make sure you remember to add the plugin suffix '.lua' and application slot 8 in using iR Shell configurator (press R+Start to run). With so many options, plugins and features why would you ever want to return to the PSPs XMB?

ZOMG im first!!!!!!!eleven!one11111!!1111! afafafaffafLACKKK
This is different to the previously released plugin since it uses a more compatible LUA player version. We need more plugins ... keep iR Shell alive !!!
This is actually a pretty neat thing. My biggest complaint with LUA was that I would have to launch lua player and that really drove me away. I may actually use LUA now...
In an attempt to get out of calculator, i pressed start and my psp locks up and shuts down? When i press home i don't go back to irshell but straight to xmb! Please change this for the next version.
thanks Kajo5! : )
can some
what happens if they make more plugins tahn slots for it in the irshell menu. will ahman(not sure if i got it right) make a new irshell to allow more plugins. or will we have to choose what ones we need.
completly awesome!! irshell is da must have!! informations about a .avi plugin for irshell?
Thanks alot for this plugin we need more plugins like this\ Great jod. :)
thanks for this great plugin! definately a great one
@9: An .avi plugin is extremely unlikely, as nobody's been able to get a versatile, stable avi player up and running on the PSP. There have been attempts, but in the end, it was resolved that to be truly reliable, we would have to go with the .pmp container format. And thus, we have a perfectly good .pmp plugin for iR Shell. I wholeheartedly support more plugins and content for iR Shell--it's a way to artificially extend the life of the app (hopefully until Ahman returns to update it someday?)
The plugin has been updated to solve some bugs. Here's the link: http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=709&mforum=irshell
