JoySens v1.3 - now with DPad/Analog swap function |
Ó
Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Raphael dropped by the QJ.NET Forums to release the newest version of JoySens, now on version 1.3. A couple of days back, the PSP homebrew dev released version 1.2 which was made compatible with Custom Firmware 3.71 M33.In case you missed the previous releases, here's a brief description of the homebrew application: JoySens is a custom firmware plugin that lets users tweak with the sensitivity settings of the analog stick "in a very efficient way as well as 'repair' faulty analog sticks." So what's new with this version of JoySens? A lot, it seems. Here's a list of updates and changes from Raphael's release thread:
- Added a rescaling functionality to fix analog sticks that return too small values in either direction (hence the analog stick wouldn't react in that direction)
- Added DPad/analog swapping
- Made plugin executable smaller by reverting to kernels libc and implementing a fake pow() function rather than linking libm
- Ensured compatibility with homebrew (actually needs the plugin enabled in game150.txt/game3xx.txt depending on the set kernel mode)
- Added FAQ.txt for some frequently asked questions. READ IT BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS!
- Fixed a minor bug that could cause the plugin and the PSP to crash when using the auto-center function

I cannot thank you enough for making this plug-in. Especially the dpad / analog swap feature. Thank you. I can finally play monster hunter freedom 2 with the dpad, oh god my poor thumb has been spared. I have one question though, is it possible to make it to where I could have two different settings/configurations? One for when I'm playing games and the other for the xmb menu. I like using the analog in the xmb menu but on the second remap setting and using the third setting for playing my games (complete swap).
I know that I could simply switch the remap settings, but I would really like to save my setting for each (ingame and xmb).
That's already the No. 1 point in my todo list for the next version (see readme) :) I'm also trying with an auto VHS-detection
sorry, I did have a go at the readme. But I was so excited that I didn't read it completely. I read about the usage and I when straight to my psp and started using the plug-in.
Thanks for making this possible on the psp and psp slim.
