PlayStation Portable Analog Nub - Image 1PSP owners running on the JoySens CFW plugin may want to listen in, as Raphael dropped by earlier to let us know of an update. The developer has just announced that in light of a problem with JoySens v1.11 (the calibration function was broken), the plugin has been repaired and updated to version 1.2.

Now, in case you're a first-time reader, this plugin will enable you to tinker with the sensitivity settings on your PSP's analog nub. And from the looks of it, Raphael also added in some extra features for this new release:
  • Fixed a major bug with the calibration function that scaled the range wrongly (should now really be useable)
  • Added a function to map the D-Pad buttons to analog in case you can't fix your analog stick but a game requires analog stick
  • Added a function to force analog input (for XMB for example)
  • Added a function to map the analog to D-Pad (to control XMB with analog)
  • Added button mappings for SCREEN (brightness), VOLUP and VOLDOWN
JoySens currently works with Dark AleX's 3.40 OE and M33's custom firmwares. Usage instructions should be available in the download bundle's file readme - make sure to view that before using Raphael's homebrew.

I can't seem to get this or any previous versions working under M33 3.52. I have done everything in the instructions and enabled it under plugins in recovery but it doesn't do anything. Any suggestions? Or are there any other M33 compatible plugins I could test to see if they work on my PSP?

» MS

Your memory stick does not support plugins.

in other words get a Sony Memory Stick.

You're full of crap Dave, I just added the line to vsh.txt as well and it works in the XMB now. I'm pretty sure your MS brand does not affect plugins, mine's a Sandisk.

sandisk dont work on this.

» Some reading helps sometimes...

"this plugin will enable you to tinker with the sensitivity settings on your PSP's analog nub"

And though that's a very restricted view on the functionality of this plugin, it should give a better impression than just "remap D-Pad to the stick".

For anyone interested you could always take a look at the tutorial I wrote: http://wordpress.fx-world.org/?page_id+35

or just read the readme

Is this a joke? I never heard of any probs related to the brand of Memstick! Any links for info/proof?

» try this

first don't listen to those fools who tell you it's not working because of your memory stick. What you need to do is make sure you're on 3.40 OE or an M33 custom firmware. Then copy joysens.prx and joysens.ini to seplugins located in the root of you're memory stick. Next make sure you have two text files in seplugins. One should be named game.txt and the other should be named vsh.txt Make sure you don't just create a text file with just the names game.txt. and vsh.txt. Open each one up and type game in the game.txt and vsh for the vsh.txt. Next open up vsh.txt agian and underneath vsh type ms0:/seplugins/joysens.prx

Go to recovery and go to plugins. Enable joysens.prx. After that you're all set. I hope this helps.

» Thanks

This sounds great, I haven't gotten around to it since the initial release but I do look forward to this since it seems to have many features.

Thanks for all your hard work, hope to see more versions in the future.

» Unsure of something

I would like to change the controls because those are very similar to those I have mapped for iR Shells MP3 plug-in.

I think it is on your to-do list but if not I request that you add it since I would really like to be able to map the controls to the screen button next to the note button.

» Hm...

The game150.txt and game351.txt do not show up in the Recovery -> Plugins menu, even though I correctly put them in SEPLUGINS folder. Any ideas what could be wrong...?
