JoySens v1.01: compatible with 3.40 OE and M33 CFWs

JoySens from Raphael - Image 1Homebrew developer Raphael sent QJ.NET an email regarding the new build for his pet application JoySens, bumping it up to v1.01. To those who missed our earlier coverage on this one, note that it is actually a CFW plugin that lets users tweak the sensitivity of their PSP's analog stick.

JoySens v1.01 is essentially the same as the previous version but the most important change in this build is that the plugin has been made compatible to DAX's 3.40 OE and Team M33's custom firmwares.

Raphael also mentioned that the problem was that JoySens requires kernel mode to hook the controller functions. The good thing about the two custom firmwares is that they have additional security checks that avoid kernel mode modules to load if they link to user mode functions.

Anyway, JoySens v1.01 comes with a Readme file, complete with installation guide and reminders from the developer. Browse through that first before installing this on your PlayStation Portable.

Slower is already possible (set sensitivity < 100%). Faster is technically impossible, sorry.

Wow, that's sooooo backwards. Posting "first" is actually a waste of a post...

I use 3.10OE-A (do the later firmwares have better native PAL support?), so I'm not affected. Good plugin though.

This is very nice! I havent tried the plugin, but it sounds very promissing. After hard fixing the d-pad, a little tweking on the analog would be great.

Thanx a lot Raphael!

# The psp will calibrateGuest 2007-07-26 12:46
Read the 2.71 official psp pdf manual, the psp will calibrate the analog if you go under system settings and on the screen which shows what version firmware your running. While on that screen, rotate the analog in circles.

hey drdre74. go to the root of your memory stick and make a folder called seplugins. then drag the files in there.

Mabie this will help with siphon filter 2's controls. I thought the first one had kind of fast aiming sensitivity. Anyway, this is a useful peice of homebrew.

# OK cant find the pluginsGuest 2007-07-27 02:37
Ok i made a folder on the root of my PSP named seplugins and put the two files in that and then did a hard boot holding down the R button. But when i go to plugins in M33 nothing is there but the back button.

Having the same problem as drdre74. I copied the two files into SEPLUGINS on MS root but nothing shows up in the plugin selector. I am using M33 3.52. Readme says "add the file to game.txt (and vsh.txt if you want)" but I can't find either of those files.

Hi Cimino and Drdre74 you have to make a game.txt file and add this to it.

ms0:/seplugins/joysens.prx

Hope this helps.
