JoySens v1: analog sensitivity adjustment for your PSP |
Ó
Ever wanted to have more control over your movements in an FPS on your PSP? Well, now you can. Raphael has come up with JoySens version 1, a CFW plugin that'll allow users to change the sensitivity on their PSP's analog stick.
As Raphael explains in his readme, the application basically changes the sensitivity settings on your analog stick in the following ways:
- It changes the axial mapping to a cubic form so that small movements don't get recognized too early. This means that you can move cursors more exactly and don't have it jumping around on the screen.
- It applies a sensitivity scale to linearly change the responsiveness (and maximal amplitude for values < 100%) of the stick.
- It filters movement of the analog stick so that abrupt changes are further smoothed (though only slightly).
- It is possible to calibrate the analog stick (though still imperfect) so it centers properly
Note, however, that this plugin was tested with CFW 3.10-OE-A' using Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories as well as Call of Duty: Road to Victory and currently doesn't work with Team M33's CFW 3.51-M33-7. That being said, if you still use 3.10 OE-A' and want to give it a try, feel free to do so. Enjoy!

FINALLY!! good job Raph!
I'm impressed with the creativeness of this plugin. However, producing it on 3.10OE with the majority of CFW users more than likely at 3.40OE minimum is a bit like making a program aimed at the majority of XP users, but making it on Windows 98.
Finally a good plugin this is what we want. Why doesnt sony include this?
This plugin is going to really help me because my Analogue is so off centered right now and it stops alot of my games from been playable (I cant even run forward in FPS due 2 my analogue stick messing about. Thank you for this plugin Andi [Jackass UK]

this would more than likely help me a lot if it was on the new M33's. My analog stick is messed up pretty bad. always goes to the right when playing most games. I've replaced my stick like 3 times already but it still does it. Most of the time i have to pause the game and then unpause it to get it to stop going to the right. When i was playing tomb raider Laura wouldnt run forward sometimes she'd start creeping' as if i wasn't pushing on the stick.
sometimes my analog is off center too, I sent a mail to sony asking if they could include a function to calibrate the analo in a new firmware, they just completly ignored the question and said me to send it to them for repairs -_-
I already created a new version that is compatible with 3.40 OE firmwares and up. Read the original release thread for more information. direct download: http://www.fx-world.org/download/joysens1.01.zip
I already created a new version that is compatible with 3.40 OE firmwares and up. Read the original release thread for more information. Also, it wasn't my choice to only make this work for 3.10 OE in the first place. It was a problem with higher firmwares and their way to load kernel mode modules. It's as if WindowsXP and higher would without any notification deny to start your program. direct download: http://www.fx-world.org/download/joysens1.01.zip
I have exactly the same problem. Mine is also walking left without moving it. But since I'm on 3.52 M33, This won't work for me. :(
Thank you very much for this Raphael, my analog tends to lean downward even when I'm not touching it and really messes me up when I'm playing games. Hopefully this app will solve that problem. Thanks!
Raph could you do me and a thousands of other people a favor and make this sweet plugin compatible for 3.52 M33. I would really appreciate it and im sure alot more people or waiting for the same thing.
